Ruth Hunter graduated from the former Brokaw Hospital School of Nursing, which is now Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal, IL, in 1951. She then continued to work at the hospital for 28 years after obtaining her RN's license in 1952.

Professor Drexler's association with IWU began in 1929 and he officially retired from the faculty in 1979. He returned to teaching on campus several times afterwards as a sabbatical replacement. Professor Drexler also served as Acting Director of the School of Music three times.
