This collection consists of materials spanning 1941-1947 and includes business records and correspondence of the Central of Georgia Railway Company as well as detailed reports of employees’ United States military service during World War II. These reports include employee military records, interviews conducted by Central of Georgia Railway Company of veteran employees, and letters expressing their gratitude for their service in the war. This collection consists of the papers of Joseph T. Lawless. Materials span 1863-1963 and include personal and professional correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletter bulletins, and a photograph. Materials mostly pertain to Irish nationalism and Irish Americans affiliated with the Friends of Irish Freedom organization. Correspondence to and from Joseph T. Lawless span 1918-1924 and discuss the push for an Independent Irish Republic and support from within the United States.

This collection consists of the research papers and recordings compiled by English author Michael Gray during the writing of his book on Georgia blues legend Blind Willie McTell, one of the earliest blues performers to record. Materials range from 1991 to 2010, and include recordings and transcripts of interviews with witnesses and folklorists, images of relevant census records, copies of court records, manuscript drafts, extensive correspondence, and the unissued complete recording of McTell’s last studio session in Atlanta, 1956.

This collection consists of the transcripts, original cassette tape recordings of public speeches, lectures, and oral history interviews spanning from 1962-2007. Interviews were conducted and recorded by Georgia Southern University’s Department of History and Zach S. Henderson Library Special Collections. Those interviewed are mostly locals to Bulloch County and neighboring counties. Interviewees discuss their personal and family lives, historical events they were a part of, and circumstances surrounding their successes. The public speeches and lectures originated from an assortment of sources.

This collection includes the scrapbooks and meeting minutes that document the activities of the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution from 1964 to 2021. The scrapbooks include newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, correspondence, event and activity information, genealogical information of Revolutionary War veterans, and local history. The minutes detail Chapter meetings from 1964-2016, though the minutes from September 1984-May 1996 are missing.

This collection consists of photocopied letters of the Keller family of Bulloch County, Georgia from 1862-1903. Most letters are addressed to Mary Annis Keller (later Hodges), from cousins serving in the Confederate Army as well as later letters from other family members. Also included are muster rolls of various Confederate units, 1860 census records of Chatham and Effingham Counties, and a chart showing the value of Confederate money to gold, 1861-May 1866.

This collection consists of correspondence, official military records, clippings, press releases, reports, memoranda, photographs, printed material, two unpublished manuscripts, and a diary (1941) recording William M. Rigdon’s naval service as the United States entered World War II. The materials pertain to Rigdon’s naval service, particularly as the Assistant Naval Aide (1942-1953) to Presidents Roosevelt and Truman, and after his retirement from the Navy, as Executive Manager of the Virginia Hotel Company. Topics documented by the collection include descriptions of Manila before and during World War II, the Potsdam Conference, and the origins of the Democratic Club in Washington, D.C.

This collection consists of transcripts of microfilm copies of historical records pertaining to Georgia compiled by the American Loyalist Claims Commission. The original documents are located in the British National Archives, London (American Loyalists Claims, Series I, A.O. 12, 1776-1831 and Series II A.O. 13, 1780-1835). Zach Henderson Library Special Collections houses five reels of microfilmed claims records; transcriptions of reels 1, 2, and 3 are included in this collection. The collection consists of correspondence to Naomi L.D. Cox of Clayton's Mills, Pickens County, South Carolina from 1859-1869. The letters from family members discuss personal and farm news, but also mention the secession of Tennessee and South Carolina, life and living conditions in Tennessee during the Civil War and Reconstruction, and some descriptions of battles in Tennessee. Correspondents include Malinda D. Cox, Henrietta Cox, and Sallie Cox. The collection also contains an Atlanta Constitution advertisement, a letter between the donors of the collection, and a photograph.
