This study examines whether the Vincentian charism exists in North America. The positive answer has to be seen against the backdrop of uniformity vs. adaptation, operative in every province. The specific American experience involved education (universities, seminaries), mission work. These are explained within the American context of size, immigration and geopolitical considerations. Specific American contributions to the Congregation of the Mission are mentioned.
