Boonshoft School of Medicine Oral History Project

In the fourth interview, Dr. Beljan discusses in-depth the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) accreditation process and the various visits of the LCME to the Wright State University School of Medicine. The nature of the LCME, its powers, responsibilities, and focus are examined in detail by Dr. Beljan, as are his thoughts on the nature and function of the LCME in connection to the development of the Wright State School of Medicine.

This second interview with Dr. Beljan is in two parts. The first part is a continuation of the first interview in that Dr. Beljan continues his description of the political problems facing the School of Medicine's development when he arrived as founding Dean. He then goes on to discuss other possible dangers to development, the interview process for his position, and the roles of Miami University and Central State University in the development of the SOM.
