This paper is about finding the best practices in which to protect a literary character as an individual and help authors keep the rights to their characters when the characters are taken out of the original work. It focuses on the basic copyright and trademark laws, how they apply to a literary character, what is afforded to the character for protection, and the lack of protection by the courts. The research helps facilitate ideas and advice on how to better protect a literary character before and after the process of copyrighting or trademarking the work.

Since the Christian worldview is composed of more than theoretical truth, Christian literature should reflect these other aspects, such as how that truth is applied in the lives of the saints. Furthermore, the praxis element of worldview is reflected in literature more naturally in narrative genres than in more expository writings like systematic theology. Narrative genres mirror the complex, temporal way a person lives his life, and because of this are able to show how objective truth is applied in subjective situations. Tess’s story is entirely fictional. However, this book is inspired by one true event. On August 21, 1911, the Mona Lisa (or, as she is known in France, La Joconde) was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris. An Italian workman named Vincenzo Peruggia hid in a broom closet until the museum closed and simply walked out with the painting under his coat. Monsieur Béroud was the real painter who discovered the theft.

Revamping The Vampire Heroine: Reshaping The Character Of Bella Swan Through Twilight Fan Fiction, Kaitlyn D. Boisvert

Due to her bland personality and submissive nature, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight heroine Bella Swan is often ridiculed by critics and readers alike. Yet some fans have taken to writing fan fiction as a way to defend Bella or explore her troublesome characteristics. Building on Henry Jenkins' scholarly approach to fan-generated writings, I analyze fan fiction writings based on Bella Swan in New Moon. I consider what sort of new perspective or interpretation the authors bring into their original works. My findings indicate that while not all fan fiction works deviate from Meyer's original character model, many do manage to flesh …
