What I Know Now That I Wish They'd Told Me Back Then: A Time Capsule Of Advice From Baby Boomers To The Baby Busters Of Generation X, Don P. Diffine Ph.D.

Belden Center Books

Consider this--if the fountain of youth is unattainable, wouldn't it be great to avoid being, as the Dutch say, "too soon old and too late smart?" After all, nobody gets a second chance to go through life again. Alas, we must learn from those who have been around the block a few more times than we have. We won't live long enough to make all their collective mistakes--as resourceful as we might be behind their backs.

Those wonderful voluntary participants interested in this writing project, most of whom had done a "heap of living," were encouraged to focus their wisdom …

Everything that follows must be understood in light of three major facets of my experience, training, and assumptions. Without this background, at least some of this article will be less (if not in-) comprehensible, so bear with me.

Take, for example, what happened this summer. Concordia became a University. The old quarter system was replaced by semesters. Weber Hall was completely and drastically remodeled.

Any one of those changes can be dealt with easily. Some people may even be able to handle two …

The Promethean

I would like to thank all of The Promethean staff and Dr. Wright for their dedication towards this project. The deadlines were quick to come, but with the help of Steve Jackson, Chris Martin, Andrew Werth, and Dr. Wright, the 1995 Spring Term edition of The Promethean was able to be born.

Well, it's the end of another term, and summer vacation is creeping up on us fast. Not only is it the end of the year; this year is also the last year of Concordia College. Next year will be a turning point in the history of both The …
