This is the second in a series of interviews with Mr. Douglas R. Durko, Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In the first part of this interview, Mr. Durko discusses the interaction between the School of Medicine, the area hospitals, and the University Medical Services Association.

This is the third in a series of interviews with Mr. Douglas R. Durko, Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this fifth interview, Dr. Spanier finishes his discussion of the administration of the founding Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. John R. Beljan. He discusses Dean Beljan's interaction with university leaders and the Dayton-area medical community, Dean Beljan's leadership and management style, and Dr. Beljan's move to the Office of Health Affairs as Vice-President.

Dr. Spanier goes on to describe the search for a new Dean, the appointment of Dr. William D. Sawyer, and the subsequent development and growth of the School of Medicine.

This is an interview with the Mayor of the City of Dayton, Paul R. Leonard. In this interview, Mayor Leonard discusses his role and the role of other Dayton-area legislators in developing and passing the legislation authorizing the establishment of the School of Medicine at Wright State University. Mayor Leonard discusses the bi-partisan support of Dayton legislators in moving the legislation through the Ohio House and Senate, the position of the Governor on the legislation, and the movement of the bill authorizing the School of Medicine through the legislature.
