The typescript includes not only standard genealogical information, but biographical information about the Brooks family members as well. Also included in the collection is a one-page typed transcription of an 1850 letter by Richard Brooks regarding personal and religious affairs.

These materials include an English 103 paper by Kenneth Reffeitt on “Uncle Charlie” [Charlie Greer], a transcription (no original included) of an 1895 speech given by Jasper Greer about the history of the Civil War, a program for the dedication of the John Greer Marker by the Daughters of the American Revolution, and genealogy notes on the family beginning with John Greer.
