Between the years 1951 and 1956 I sat out there where you are with enough regularity that no one ever got overly concerned about my spiritual condition. Back in those days, it seems to me, there was less concern about the "spiritual condition" and more concern about chapel attendance. I think that's progress. The scope of this study must include three parts. Firstly, a careful analysis of the community surrounding Our Savior Lutheran Church must be made. Such an analysis ought to delineate the geographical information as well as the needs and the resources of the community. Secondly, an analysis of Our Savior Congregation is important, dealing mainly with the congregation’s understanding of, its willingness to, and its ability for ministry in this community.
