The body of the paper itself was written from the point of view of a person who has one foot planted in the mainstream of the movement of the rock culture, while remaining enough apart from the rock scene to keep a certain amount of objectivity. This objectivity includes discussing the various historical and sociological factors which have contributed to the shaping of the present situation.
