A collaborative concert featuring the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra, Chris Wild, conductor, and the Andrews University Singers and Chorale, Stephen Zork, conductor, as they present "Easter Gloria." The concert will begin with choruses selected from the Easter portions of Handel's "Messiah", followed by the Overture from Giuseppe Verdi's "Nabucco", and conclude with John Rutter’s Gloria.

Experience a festive garland of heartwarming carols such as Cameron Roses’ Infant Holy and selections from John Rutter’s Gloria, Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, and Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. The centerpiece of the Christmas concert includes Z. Randall Stroope’s Magnificat, Shawn Kirchner’s setting of Brightest and Best, Paul Stookey’s Christmas Dinner arranged by Stephen Zork, and the reverent symphonic setting of See Amid the Winter’s Snow by Dan Forrest. The concert, presented in a collaborative purpose by instrumentalists and vocalists from the Department of Music, is designed to inspire you to serve those that Jesus Christ came to save.

The Andrews University Symphony Orchestra (together with the University Singers and vocal soloists Sara Emerson, Julie Karpenko Reid, Charles Reid, and Stephen Zork), aim to celebrate the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven with a performance of his Symphony No.9 on May 1. The concert will open with a complementary world premiere composition by Andrews University graduate student Kaija Perry.

Can you change the world through song? This appealing idea has long been the professed aim of singers who are part of choruses affiliated with the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA). Theses choruses first emerged in the 1970s, and grew out of a very American tradition of (often gender-segregated) choral singing that explicitly presents itself as a community-based activity. Experience a garland of heartwarming carols, and choral selections that vary in style and genre from the Latin setting of O Nata Lux (Oh light of light) by English Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis to the Filipino folk setting of Umawit Kayo Sa Panginoon by Joy Nilo – sung in Tagalog language. The centerpiece of the Christmas concert is the joyful and radiant setting of Magnificat by J. S. Bach.
