The collection of the YWCA of Brooklyn contains materials from the organization since its opening in 1888, until the records were transferred to Brooklyn College in 2010. These records span nearly 125 years, and include documents related to administration, governance, finance, legal cases, facilities, security, educational and health programs, publications, IT and telecommunications, public relations, events, photographs, newspaper clippings, multi-media, and ephemera.
Of particular importance for this collection are the minutes and reports: they document the trajectory of this institution, as well as the ways they fought to help meet the needs of the community of Brooklyn through the years. …

Included is a ledger dated 1842 listing taxes assessed on real estate and personal property of residents, another from 1882 listing property valuations and taxes assessed, a pocket valuation and list book for 1916, and a small collection of tax records from years between 1874 and 1900. The University of Maine began conferring Honorary Degrees in 1886. The first recipient to receive an Honorary Degree was Charles H. Fernald, a University professor of Natural history. Upon Fernald's resignation, the University of Maine conferred upon him a Ph. D. In 1965, the University of Maine changed its policy and conferred six to twelve honorary degrees during both the June and August Commencement ceremonies. Degree recipients ranged from presidents to Supreme Court justices to veterans and business leaders.

Our Neighborhood Club of Old Town, Maine, was organized in 1893 and federated in the Maine Federation of Women's Clubs in 1901. The group sought out the collective betterment of each member and the community by doing charity work. They often donated gifts, money, and time to hospitals, veterans organizations, and cancer research.
The Our Neighborhood Club papers collection consists of club program booklets, scrapbooks, photographs, as well as club meeting minutes and attendance. The collection does have papers that span between 1908 to 2007, however, the collection primarily focuses on club materials during the 1960s through the 1990s.

The opening and dedication of the Maine Center for the Arts located on the University of Maine campus was September 20, 1986. The Center contains 62,000 square feet of space and includes the Hutchins Concert Hall with 1628 seats and the Hudson Museum. In 2007, the Center was renamed the Collins Center for the Arts following a gift from donors Richard R. and Anne A. Collins.

Ella Corinne Brown was a faculty member at the University of Maine in Orono from 1962 to 1979. She was responsible for writing the course program for parks and recreation and designed the specialized program leading to a degree in parks and recreation. Brown was born in 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri and died in Orono, Maine in 1987. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1951 and received her master's degree from Montana State University in 1961. She received her Ph.D. degree from Indiana University.
