The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon Church, is one of the few religious organizations in the world today that constructs temples, since its founding in the year 1830 these sacred edifices have exerted a definite influence upon its members, and have played an important part in the religious activities of the church and fulfilled a definite role in its gospel teachings.
