On June 16, 1977, an archaeologist from the Center for Archaeological Research, The University of Texas at San Antonio, conducted a surface survey in the area of Olmos Dam. The areas surveyed include the 250-foot right-of-way just to the south of the dam, and also an area extending roughly 500 feet north of the dam (Fig. 1). These are two of several areas considered for an alternate vehicle road to be used during planned modifications to Olmos Dam.
