Tanto la visión sociológica como el análisis desde los estudios culturales hacen evidente que se está realizando una transformación de la violencia acompañada por una penetración de ésta en los muy diversos espacios de convivencia en América Latina. Despite the success of Disney’s first full length featured film Snow White in 1937 , the animators’ strike of the late 1930s and the war in Europe cutting of international profits brought the Walt Disney Company was near bankruptcy by 1941. Walt Disney was faced with the possibility of closing down his studio. However, the entrance of the United States into WWII and the rising threat of the spread of Nazism became the saving grace to the Walt Disney Studio. This essay explores the collaborations between Disney, businessman and politician Nelson Rockefeller, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the 1940s. …

Paraguay has long been seen as one of the forgotten corners of the globe, a place that slips beneath the radar of most diplomats, academics, journalists, and tourists in Latin America. Paraguay is a country defined not so much by association as by isolation. The renowned Paraguayan writer Augusto Roa Bastos famously remarked that Paraguay’s landlocked isolation made it like an island surrounded by land. Yet Paraguay is developing and globalizing fast. Critica cuatro argumentos ofrecidos en contra a la introduccíon del IRP en Paraguay y sugiere al elite economico paraguayo de considerar replicar el actitud de algunos de sus pares en otros paises.
