Two hundred fifteen students received bachelor of arts degrees and 115 graduate students received the master's degree at the College's 70th commencement, May 21. Speaking as an alumna and a member of the board of trustees, Joanne M. Braxton,'72, Braxton drew upon her own experiences, those of graduating students and fellow alumnae/i to make the point that the kind of education Sarah Lawrence offers prepares students for life in a diverse society.
