This collection contains a letter written by Aaron Gatchel on April 18, 1865 in Petersburg, Virginia to his brother David in Urichsville, Ohio. The letter describes an engagement at Dinwiddie Court House, Virginia; gives losses of the 13th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, Company B; and comments on Lincoln's assassination. A transcript of the letter is included in the collection.
