A ribald, raucous, rowdy look at the eternal “battle of the sexes.” The beautiful Catherine has acquired a reputation as “Kate the Curst” because she apparently does not like the kind of potential suitors encouraged by her father. Enter the swashbuckling but roguish adventurer, Petruchio, who wants both Catherine and her dowry. The father happily agrees to the match and the resulting “battle” ends up as one of Shakespeare's most famous love matches.

It is a story written about a contemporary social theme that affects each of our lives to a greater or lesser degree and a theme difficult with which to play. The Issue addressed is rape: not a playful subject, but a serious concern.

My Fair Lady is a musical based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The story concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so that she may pass as a lady. The original Broadway, London and film versions all starred Rex Harrison.

The Franks, the Van Daans, and a couple other displaced Jewish people all live in Mr. Kraler's attic for about a year and a half. Eventually, the Nazis find them, and all but Mr. Frank die in the concentration camps.
