The Korean government has recently recognized the importance of residential environment for the disabled, and has begun to establish various housing support policies as a social safety net. In this context, the Korean government has enacted the Housing Support Act for the Underprivileged (HSAU) which includes the disabled in 2012. The goal of this legislative action is to strengthen the Housing Support Policy for the Disabled (HSPD) and establish a legal basis for HSPD (NLIC, 2017).
