In this thesis it shall be our aim to see on the basis of the facts at hand what really was the sentiment of the 16th and l7th. century Lutheran Church as regards the sphere of missions. And of course, in the treatment of a subject like this, aiming at a presentation of historic facts, there is but little room for originality.
