Political Competition, Relative Deprivation, And Perceived Threat: A Research Note On Anti- Christian Violence In India, Chad Bauman, Tamara Leech
Department of Public Health Scholarship and Creative Works
A preliminary subnational statistical analysis of violence against Christians in contemporary India, this article suggests that whereas the data provide very little support for simple, demographic explanations of this violence, they do more robustly support theories emphasizing the relative status of ethnic and religious minorities (vis-à-vis majorities) and the perception, among Hindus, that Christians (and other minorities) represent a threat to their numerical, political and economic strength.

Intellectual Property, Copyright, And Piracy: A Cultural View, Steven W. Staninger
Intellectual Property, Copyright, And Piracy: A Cultural View, Steven W. Staninger
Copley Library: Faculty Scholarship
Religion plays a major role in determining culture, and has an important effect on how laws are both written and enforced. The concept of intellectual property varies in different cultural traditions, and the dominant religion of a culture plays a major role in the how copyright is viewed and if it is respected or enforced. This paper briefly evaluates the cultures of three major religious and intellectual traditions to determine what, if any, effect their beliefs and values have on the respect for and enforcement of laws defending intellectual property and copyright.

Mission Integration & Ministry Publications
The article features Gregory Baum, mathematician, theologian, ex-Augustinian friar, dissenter and pioneering sociologist of religion. In an interview in 1996, he provided a diagnosis of the Roman Catholic Church mentioning that it was undergoing a governance crisis of immense proportions and that there was a need for a new system. Baum, Professor Emeritus of Theological Ethics and the Sociology of Religion at McGill University, considers himself a journalist fascinated with ideas.

Jesus Music: The Story Of The Jesus Movement And Evaluation Of Its Musical Impact, Shimon K. Galiley
Senior Honors Theses
Few recent historical developments have had as much impact on American Evangelical Christianity as the Jesus Movement. Dating back only a few decades, this movement resulted in the conversion of many countercultural youth and the consequent revitalization of many American churches. One of the greatest impacts of the Jesus Movement was its new music which came to be known as “Jesus Music.”
This thesis describes the history of the Jesus Movement and the musical impact it had on American Evangelical Christianity.

There has been no end of predictions that the demise of the Religious Right is imminent. Over the past three decades, proof of its impending collapse has included the televangelist scandals, Pat Robertson’s failure to secure the Republican presidential nomination, the election and re-election of Bill Clinton, and the emergence of “young” evangelicals who refuse to toe the Religious Right line (this one keeps popping up).
The latest version involves the notion that economically focused libertarians of the Tea Party will inevitably find themselves in heated conflict with evangelical and fundamentalist social conservatives, thus challenging the power of the Religious …
