New Testament Prayer As Found In The Epistle Of James, Mark Whitsett

Master of Divinity Thesis

Perhaps one may question, "Why another study on prayer?" Indeed volumes have been written on the subject much more eloquent and thorough than this study. But this may only further underscore the importance of the topic. In the New Testament alone there are well over 250 direct or indirect references to prayer. The commands to pray and the promises attached to prayer are many. This writer is convinced that as long as there are Christians in the world they will need to study this thing called prayer. And as long as there are Christians praying, prayer and its applications can …

An Examination And Exposition Of Process-Thought And Extrapolation Of Its Themes For Theological Use, Christian Just

Master of Divinity Thesis

It is the expressed purpose of this study to investigate the possibilities for theological use of process philosophy. Within that scope and purpose, certain objects had to be met. First, it was necessary to understand as fully as possible the philosophical system itself. Second, certain judgements had to be made as to the availability of that system for theological and religious purposes. Finally, it was necessary to expand on the philosophical scheme to include certain theological notions that are not inherent in the system.

The Covenant Comes Of Age: A Study Of Jeremiah 31:31-34, Thomas Decker

Master of Divinity Thesis

This paper purposes to determine the historical and theological context into which Jeremiah introduced the concept of the new covenant found only in Jeremiah 31131-34. The Old Testament was acquainted with many covenants at various times; each held a place of importance with subsequent generations in understanding the relationship of Israel to the Kingdom of God. The scope of the problem spans the history of the Old Testament and the Christian Church. But this paper limits itself to …

An Analysis Of The History Of The Protestant Conference From 1927 - 1932, Luther Albrecht Nov 1966

An Analysis Of The History Of The Protestant Conference From 1927 - 1932, Luther Albrecht

Master of Divinity Thesis

If one were to ask a sample number of active Lutherans today, I feel that most of them would not be able to answer the question, "What is the Protestant Conference?" While discussing what the Protestant Conference is, other questions would also be raised such as: What did the Conference discuss in early meetings? Where did they meet? What type of organization, if any, did they strive to have? What insights into their theology can we gain? Who were some of the men that wrote and contributed to Protestant scholarship and theology? And many more questions could be raised.
