High turnover and low engagement among restaurant employees cost restaurant owners thousands of dollars per employee each year due to costs associated with training and lost productivity. Competency models are used in many industries to improve employee engagement and reduce turnover, but there is a gap in knowledge surrounding the use of competency models in restaurant organizations. Structuring successful public-private partnership (P3) concession contracts is a problem for both the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) of Nigeria and private concessionaires that partner with the government to finance the delivery of public goods in the territory. Researchers have estimated the percentage of P3 concession failures in Nigeria to be between 50% and 60%. Small business owners who struggle to promote ethical financial reporting are at high risk of failure.
