ABSTRACT. The text discusses Foucauldian notions such as aesthetics of existence and subjectivation, employing them in order to clarify new forms of political action promoted by autonomous collectives such as the Slut Walk, whose queer inspiration establishes a clear distinction against traditional identity movements. We argue that the political actions conducted by this particular collective can be best understood by relating them to Foucault’s arguments on the issue of identity, as well as to his interest in surpassing a rights acknowledgment centered politics. The text discusses Arendt’s peculiar political thought, whose originality and independence concerning classic ideological criteria such as right and left frequently arises perplexities amongst her readers. This situation is aggravated by the fact that Arendt offers no explanation concerning the methodological procedures that orient her political thought. My hypothesis is that the main characteristic of Arendt’s political thinking lies in its capacity of both distinguishing and relating the distinguished concepts, an interpretation that counters current critical readings that stress Arendt’s supposedly rigid and contemporarily unattainable concepts. The article discusses some theoretical relations between certain theses formulated by Jean-Luc Nancy and Roberto Esposito concerning the being of the community and what could be called as Heidegger’s ontological hermeneutics of being-together, incipiently elaborated between the period of Being and Time and the early thirties. In a first moment, after discussing Heidegger’s politicization of some of Being and Time existentials in his texts of the beginning of the 30’s decade, we formulate the hypothesis that Heidegger’s thought of the community is not compatible with nazi racism, although there are some political pronunciations of the early 30’s where he himself …

he text discusses the hypothesis that Arendt’s notion of singularization and Foucault’s notion of subjectivation offer important conceptual contributions to understanding who are the actors and how do they act together in the new and autonomous political collectives. In this text I take under consideration a post- identitarian minorities collective and an eco-esthetical-political collective concerned with the issue of urban mobility. The present text aims at theoretically approximating Hannah Arendt’s reflections and the thought of Jean-Luc Nancy and Roberto Esposito, authors who have pro- posed a radical interrogation concerning being-in-common and its constitutive plu- rality. From Arendt we priorize the discussion of her concepts of action, speech, performance, freedom, plurality and singularity. From Esposito and Nancy, we emphacize their common criticisms against conceiving the community as a given subsistent reality, as well as their critiques against defining being-in-common by way of notions such as identity and subjectivity. Abstract: Divided in three sections, the present article discusses Hannah Arendt’s reflections on the contemporary crisis in education. In the first section we establish some general theoretical connections between Arendt’s thesis concerning the contemporary crisis in education and her philosophical and political reflections on the modern political crisis. The article investigates the school’s contemporary new role under the light of Foucaultian concepts such as biopolitcs and governamentality, and the Deleuzian notion of control society. We analyze modern school as a privileged disciplinary institution and its contemporary crisis is focalized by the notion of control pedagogy, with which we evaluate recent educational reforms that have started shaping the school’s new role in the present. These theses are related to Heidegger’s late hypothesis concerning Western history as the history of Being’s epochal sendings. This theoretical frame stresses the originality of Heidegger’s late analysis concerning the essence of modern technology and modern science in contrastto his previous analysis on modern science and nature in the context of Being and Time’s project of fundamental ontology, from 1927.

The text discusses the historial-political character attributed by Heidegger to the artwork in his 1936 essay “The origin of the work of art”. The main argument is that Heidegger’s analysis of the artwork is simultaneously an inquiry into the possibility of a new beginning in history by means of a genuine appropriation of history, a subject-matter that was altogether absent during the project of fundamental ontology. Criticizing current interpretations that stress the existential solipsism of the resolute Dasein, the present investigation emphasizes Heidegger’s contribution to the question of the acknowledgment of otherness in Being and Time. The key to uncover the post-metaphysical ethical dimension of the existential analytic is to be found in the theoretical articulation between the phenomenological analysis of anguish and that of the call of conscience. The main argument is that by responsibly hearing to the strange appeal of conscience, resolute Dasein is simultaneously opened to the acknowledgment and welcoming of the other as other.

The present text investigates Arendt’s conception of the political underlying her theoretical reconstruction of the Greek polis. My main argument is that Arendt’s return to the past aims at questioning the political alternatives offered by many contemporary currents of political liberalism, which tend to reduce the political to the domain of the juridical. Distinctively, I think that Arendt outlines a radical conception of democracy that is to be situated beyond the model of our actually existing democracies. Arendt redefines the meaning of ethics and politics in a post-metaphysical theoretical key, disrupting both teleological and prescriptive ties that have traditionally bound Western philosophical thinking about political action and ethical behavior. In this project, Arendt stresses the mode of being of subversive exemplarity, i.e., the capacity to publicly appear as resistant against political violence, even when this appearance is merely passive and silently. To demonstrate the post-metaphysical ethical-political impact of the subversive exemplarity, I analyze some texts in which Arendt highlights the project of a negative and reflexive ethics, one that does not determine how to act, but what …
