Letter from Edmond Smith, serving with the 4th Indiana Artillery, to "Annie" describing his regiment's reception in Louisville, Kentucky and his reaction to negative comments besmirching his character. Written on letterhead with the word "UNION!" printed in red and blue ink along with an eagle holding a shield decorated with stars and stripes.
