Latin American Classical Composers: A Biographical Dictionary takes an approach to the definition and meaning of Latin America that remains faithful to the variety of countries, ethnicities, and languages that constitute the notion of Latin America. The geographical scope of the book extends from Argentina to Mexico; chronologically, it includes composers from the Baroque period to the present (some of the composers who have a place in the dictionary are still in their twenties, e.g., Juan Pablo Simoniello, who was born in 1969).
