Polish Settlement At Yalta: An Act Of Betrayal Or An Act Of Realism?, Harold R. Mogg
Polish Settlement At Yalta: An Act Of Betrayal Or An Act Of Realism?, Harold R. Mogg
Graduate Student Research Papers
With all of this apparent concern by the Big Three regarding Poland, why has there been so much criticism of the Polish settlement at Yalta? Did Roosevelt and Churchill actually appease Stalin in regard to the Polish settlement? What was this settlement at Yalta--an act of betrayal or an act of realism? This is the confusing question that the writer of this paper will attempt to answer.

Leisure Time In Eighteenth-Century Virginia, Andrew Jackson Johnson
Leisure Time In Eighteenth-Century Virginia, Andrew Jackson Johnson
Master's Theses
Eighteenth-century Virginia was strikingly agrarian. Tobacco planting on the plantations and farms created an ever-increasing need for new land. The growth of a dispersed rural society reacted against the formation of urban focal units and a middle class. This society did create, because of the endemic loneliness of the country, a people who desired companionship and proved to be gregarious and convivial.
The hospitality for which Virginians are well known was very much in evidence at this period and served in a subtle way to offer diversion to both guest and host. Travelers were invited to the plantations and farms …

The Leveller Influence In The New Model Army From 1647 To 1649, G. Elaine Johnson
The Leveller Influence In The New Model Army From 1647 To 1649, G. Elaine Johnson
Honors Theses
Although the scope of this paper, from February of 1647 to January of 1649, would seem rather limited, the actual impact of Leveller principles and methods was felt during this short span of time. After the final Agreement of the People in early 1649, the movement seemed to center around personal attacks, reiteration of previous ideas, and defensive measures. The establishment of the Commonwealth, under the thumb of Oliver Cromwell, left behind all the Leveller plans of government, which had been discussed and approved by the Agitators and the Army Council.
Other aspects of the Leveller movement, such as their …

The church began in 1878 as the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. In 1921 the name was changed to Pickles Gap Baptist Church …

The Contribution Of Medical Women During The First Fifty Years In Utah, Keith Calvin Terry

This is the history of those noble women who came into the territory, struggling to relieve the burden of poor medical service. This is an account of how well or how poorly they conducted the art of midwifery. Khrushchev's Secret Speech And The Aftermath, Donnalee Rowe
Khrushchev's Secret Speech And The Aftermath, Donnalee Rowe
Honors Theses
Three years after the death of Stalin, Khrushchev presented before the Twentieth Party Congress of the Soviet Union, a secret speech, condemning Stalin and the development of the cult of the individual around him. In so doing, he promised to return to the Marxist-Leninist principles and to collective leadership. I shall try, in this paper, to summarize the various changes that have occurred within the years succeeding the speech. I shall try to show that there has been no basic change in the Soviet system of government, but that some controls have been relaxed and the method of control has …
