Reminiscences include accounts of Rieff's service under General Benjamin McCulloch in the Battle of Oak Hills, also known as the Battle of Wilson's Creek, which is considered the first battle west of the Mississippi during the Civil War. H.F. Rieff owned land in partnership with his father, Americus V. Rieff.

Moore in Los Esteros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The record book contains the minutes of the church and the articles of faith. The letters are reports to the New Hope church about J.T. Moore's missionary work and his thanks for the funds to carry on that mission. They also detail how the Mexican Revolutionary War affected the people of Mexico.
