Montage was a student-published, bi-weekly newspaper written in the early 1970s. The issue of November 17, 1972 included an article about the Miter Boxing Club. There was a contest for changing the name of the students newspaper and a students won for the name change to Expose. There was an article about the recent Figure Sculpture exhibit at the RISD Museum. Also there was another article about the changes to the professional exam for students seeking architectural licenses at some New England colleges, including RISD. Events for RISD students were also listed.

"Measured Feet And Jingling Lines" : The Poetry And Poetic Attitudes Of Nathaniel Hawthorne, David L. Evans
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
A study of Hawthorne's poetry and poetic attitudes encompasses three separate but integrally related areas. First, few people realize that Hawthorne wrote verse, and no other investigation of the nature and significance of the meager surviving body of this poetry has yet been undertaken. But Hawthorne's failure to create verse of enduring quality is intimately connected with the second part of the study, Hawthorne's own views of 19th century poetry and the motives surrounding his deliberate rejection of poetry as his dominant creative mode. The RISD Rag was a student publication released in the spring of 1972, first on a monthly basis and later on a bi-weekly basis. The issue of March 23, 1972 included an article with photographs about RISD students who traveled to Mexico for Wintersession. Also there was a reply from Dean Donald Lay about RISD improvements to a letter from a RISD student. A small article about organic food stores in Providence was also included. Poems, letter to the editor including one about renovating Carr Haus and events for RISD students also were included.
