Diary Of A French Girl: Surviving Intercultural Encounters, Marie-Claire Patron

Marie-Claire Patron

DIARY OF A FRENCH GIRL is the personal journal of a young French traveller who shares with us her perspectives, experiences and insights into the English Diaspora. It is a unique opportunity for Anglophones to take a look into a magic French mirror and to examine themselves through the eyes of a Francophone. On a broader level, this book also serves to prepare all global travellers for the experiences and emotions they will encounter as they journey through different time zones, lands, languages, people and cultures. It offers useful information and coping strategies to all those who embark on foreign …

Sustainable Living In The Pacific: Exploring The Role Of Multiculturalism In Teacher Education, Cresantia Frances Koya Vaka'uta

Cresantia Frances Koya Vaka'uta

The Pacific is arguably one of the most diverse regions in the world, both culturally and linguistically. Although much has been said about the relationship between culture and education, the topic of multiculturalism in education is one that remains unexplored. The author is of the view that quality educational development requires an examination of multiculturalism in teacher education and training. This paper presents the …

The Sporting Image: Sports Poetry And Creative Writing, Clive A. Palmer

Clive Palmer

This book is a collection of sports related poetry and creative writing which stemmed from a university module called The Sporting Image. Following a poetry writing workshop to help students structure their ideas and poetry writing skills an engaging degree of self-expression about sporting concepts seems to have emerged which we are proud to showcase within these pages. Many sports are featured including boxing, cricket, football and gymnastics and many issues tackled such as teamwork, comradeship, cheating, beauty and ugliness in sport. Consequently this is a varied compilation which we hope the reader will find as enjoyable to read or …
