Climate-induced sea-level rise threatens the world’s coastal populations, critical infrastructure, and ecosystems. The science of sea-level rise (SLR) has developed to inform understanding of global climate mitigation and adaptation challenges, but there is much less engagement with practitioners to discern their climate services needs and support the development of adaptation planning and action on the ground. In addition, adaptation planning and implementation processes for SLR are relatively new and practitioners developing leading practices are seeking interaction with their peers and the SLR science community. Excusable delay clauses in government construction contracts, often considered boilerplate with minimal modifications, have increased in attention since the outbreak of COVID-19. Despite the studies enumerating triggering events of the clause in the background of the pandemic, it is necessary to capture insights into how the unprecedented event is systematically accommodated by contract languages. The Climate Action Plan 2019 targets the low-energy retrofit of 500,000 existing Irish homes before 2030.1 Up to 80 per cent of building failures can be attributed to moisture risks.2 The literature indicated that external wall insulation (EWI, ETICS) failures are mostly due to moisture ingress at junctions and interfaces. A hygrothermal risk assessment of EWI on three walls with rendered concrete/concrete blockwork/cavity walls in Dublin, Belfast and Belmullet was undertaken using transient numerical simulation and the Glaser method. This research explores the role of native plants in enhancing the distinctiveness of cities in Saudi Arabia, focusing on a specific case study of Al-Samra Park. The study aims to investigate the prevalence and effects of non-native and native plants in the park and their contribution to the uniqueness of the landscape. A questionnaire was designed and implemented to gather data, and the park's plant composition was examined.

The findings indicate that non-native plants dominate Al-Samra Park, while native plants are scarce. However, the abundance of non-native plants offers various benefits to park visitors. Some non-native plants possess medicinal properties, …

This paper demonstrates the value of a framework for processing data on body acceleration as a uniquely valuable tool for diagnosing diseases that affect gait early. As a case study, we used this model to identify individuals with peripheral artery disease (PAD) and distinguish them from those without PAD. The framework uses acceleration data extracted from anatomical reflective markers placed in different body locations to train the diagnostic models and a wearable accelerometer carried at the waist for validation. This study investigated the developments and current status of stakeholders involved in preserving wooden heritage in Thailand, specifically from the government, private sectors, and academia. The methodologies consisted of documentary analyses, in-depth interviews, and on-site observations of wooden conservation sites.  The findings revealed three periods in the development of wooden built heritage: government-led building registration, the evolution of conservation approaches by various stakeholders including private and academic entities, and a collaborative phase emphasizing intangible aspects such as craftsmanship. Combating climate change and reducing atmospheric CO2 emissions are imperative. While carbon trade, including taxes and trading systems, has been proposed, the allocation of initial permits is challenging. This study addresses this issue, exploring the application of the Boltzmann distribution for carbon emission permit allocation in carbon trading. The Boltzmann distribution method uniquely considers each country's environmental and economic contexts, assigning more responsibility to nations with larger populations and higher emissions, and providing incentives to lower-emission countries. This research examines the development of 'Hoa gió,' a traditional Vietnamese architectural element, from the precolonial era, through colonial adaptations, to its reinterpretation in modernism. 'Hoa gió' offers sun shading, ventilation, privacy, and aesthetic value, fitting well with Vietnam’s climate, and was a key feature of the “golden era” of Vietnamese modernism. แสงสว่างมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมในเวลากลางคืน โดยเฉพาะในเมืองเก่าเชียงใหม่ที่มีการพัฒนากิจกรรมด้านมรดกวัฒนธรรมอย่างต่อเนื่อง จากการสำรวจระบบแสงสว่างของพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนา พบว่าการใช้แสงเพื่อสื่อความหมายทางวัฒนธรรมยังมีการศึกษาอยู่อย่างจำกัด งานวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการออกแบบแสงสว่างสำหรับพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนา และพัฒนาแนวคิดและกระบวนการออกแบบ โดยใช้กรณีศึกษาวัดสวนดอก จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ รวมถึงเสนอแนะแนวทางในการออกแบบแสงสว่างสำหรับพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนาเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมอย่างยั่งยืนงานวิจัยนี้ทำการเก็บและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้อง สำรวจพื้นที่ภาคสนามและกรณีศึกษาตัวอย่างรูปแบบและการติดตั้งระบบแสงสว่างสำหรับวัดที่เป็นโบราณสถาน รวมถึงทำการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในประเด็นปัจจัยและข้อเสนอแนะกับการออกแบบแสงสว่าง จากผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับพื้นที่และการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เพื่อใช้พัฒนาเกณฑ์และแนวคิดในการออกแบบแสงสว่างสำหรับพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนา วัดสวนดอก รวมถึงทำการจำลองสภาพแสงสว่างเพื่อประเมินความส่องสว่าง และค่าความสว่างที่สอดคล้องกับเกณฑ์มาตรฐานด้วยโปรแกรม DIALux evo 12.1 นอกจากนี้ยังได้ทำการเสนอแนะรูปแบบการใช้งานและประเมินค่าใช้จ่ายจากการใช้พลังงาน รวมถึงการพิจารณาด้านเทคนิคและความเป็นไปได้ในการติดตั้งจริงงานวิจัยนี้เสนอ แนวทางการออกแบบแสงสว่างสำหรับพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนา ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 4 ขั้นตอนสำคัญ ได้แก่ 1) การสร้างความรู้พื้นฐาน ด้านแสงสว่าง การอนุรักษ์ และการท่องเที่ยว 2) การกำหนดเกณฑ์และแนวคิดการออกแบบ ที่เหมาะสมกับวัตถุประสงค์และบริบทของสถานที่ 3) การปฏิบัติตามมาตรฐานและข้อบังคับ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยเน้นการทำงานร่วมกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และ 4) การส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย เพื่อให้เข้าใจคุณค่าและปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องอย่างรอบด้าน การออกแบบแสงที่เหมาะสมนี้จะช่วย สื่อความหมายทางสถาปัตยกรรม คติความเชื่อ และสร้างบรรยากาศ ที่ส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมยามค่ำคืนได้อย่างยั่งยืน

พื้นที่ทางสังคม (social space) เป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญที่เอื้อให้ผู้คนได้มีโอกาสปฏิสัมพันธ์กัน ซึ่งความต้องการมีความสัมพันธ์กับผู้อื่น (relatedness) นับเป็นความปรารถนาในการดำรงอยู่ของมนุษย์ที่สำคัญอย่างยิ่งข้อหนึ่ง จากการทบทวนวรรณกรรมพบว่างานศึกษาเรื่องพื้นที่ทางสังคมในบริบทวัฒนธรรมไทยยังมีอยู่ค่อนข้างจำกัด และมีความแตกต่างจากบริบทวัฒนธรรมตะวันตก อันเนื่องมาจากลักษณะทางกายภาพและพฤติกรรมการใช้พื้นที่ของผู้คน งานวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะทางกายภาพและลักษณะทางจิตวิทยาที่เอื้อให้เกิดกิจกรรมที่แสดงถึงการเป็นพื้นที่ทางสังคมในชุมชนเมืองของไทย ผ่านพื้นที่ศึกษาชุมชนปากคลองบางสะแก ย่านตลาดพลู และวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างลักษณะทางกายภาพและลักษณะทางจิตวิทยาเหล่านั้น เพื่อนำมาสู่บทสรุปคุณลักษณะที่ว่างที่เอื้อต่อการเป็นพื้นที่ทางสังคมในชุมชนเมืองของไทย วิทยานิพนธ์ใช้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงเอกสารร่วมกับการวิจัยภาคสนาม ได้แก่ การสำรวจลักษณะทางกายภาพของพื้นที่ การสังเกตการใช้สอยที่ว่าง และการเก็บข้อมูลกิจกรรมทางสังคม โดยอาศัยมโนทัศน์ แนวคิด และทฤษฎีจิตวิทยาสถาปัตยกรรม ประกอบด้วย แนวคิดเรื่องการอยู่อาศัยของมนุษย์ (the concept of dwelling) ทฤษฎีองค์ประกอบเมือง (the image of the city) ทฤษฎีกิจกรรมกลางแจ้งในพื้นที่สาธารณะ (outdoor activities) ทฤษฎีแบบแผนการใช้สอยที่ว่างของมนุษย์ (proxemics) และทฤษฎีการรับรู้ที่ว่างหลากสัมผัส (multisensory perception of space) เป็นกรอบในการวิจัย ร่วมกับการวิเคราะห์ผังแสดงการใช้สอยที่ว่าง และผังแสดงกิจกรรมทางสังคม ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นถึงจุดร่วมจากลักษณะทางกายภาพและลักษณะทางจิตวิทยาที่ทำให้เกิดกิจกรรมทางสังคมในบริเวณต่าง ๆ ของชุมชน นำมาสู่บทสรุปคุณลักษณะที่ว่างที่เอื้อต่อการเป็นพื้นที่ทางสังคมในชุมชนเมืองของไทย 5 ประการ ประกอบด้วย ที่ว่างที่เติบโตอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ ที่ว่างขนาดกะทัดรัด ที่ว่างที่เอื้อต่อการเดินเท้า ที่ว่างที่เชื่อมโยงสัมพันธ์ และที่ว่างใต้ร่มเงาที่ร่มเย็น

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ศึกษาโรงอาบน้ำในแต่ละวัฒนธรรม รวมถึงวัฒนธรรมไทย เพื่อเข้าใจถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีการอาบน้ำจากพื้นที่สาธารณะมายังพื้นที่ปิด โดยใช้กรอบทฤษฎีของมิเชล ฟูโกต์ (Michel Foucault) จากงานเขียน The History of Sexuality, Volume 3: Care of the Self และ Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison เพื่ออธิบายปรากฏการณ์ “โรงอาบน้ำ” ในสังคมไทยภายใต้มิติการดูแลตนเอง และ “วินัย” ประกอบกับข้อมูลจากการลงพื้นที่เก็บข้อมูลภาคสนามและฐานข้อมูลสถานบริการประเภทอาบน้ำ ชี้ให้เห็นว่าโรงอาบน้ำที่ปรากฏอยู่ในปัจจุบันได้รับอิทธิพลจากวัฒนธรรมต่างประเทศ ทั้งตะวันออกและตะวันตก จึงเกิดคำถามในการวิเคราะห์ว่า แนวคิดของฟูโกต์สามารถสะท้อนถึงมิติการดูแลตนเอง และวินัยในโรงอาบน้ำได้อย่างไร, โรงอาบน้ำของตะวันตกและตะวันออกมีลักษณะแบบไหน แตกต่างกันอย่างไร, และโรงอาบน้ำแบบไทยน่าจะมีลักษณะอย่างไร การทบทวนวรรณกรรมเน้นการศึกษาแนวคิดทางสังคมวิทยาและวัฒนธรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการอาบน้ำในมิติต่างๆ อาทิ ประวัติศาสตร์ สถาปัตยกรรม รวมถึงการวิจัยและวิทยานิพนธ์ที่เกี่ยวข้อง จากการศึกษา ผู้วิจัยพบว่าแนวคิดการดูแลตนเองและความมีวินัยของฟูโกต์ ยังเชื่อมโยงโรงอาบน้ำที่ไม่ใช่เพียงมิติสุขภาพ ยังสะท้อนถึงมิติอื่นๆ นำไปสู่การออกแบบวิธีการเก็บข้อมูลเพื่อใช้ศึกษาแนวทางออกแบบโรงอาบน้ำสาธารณะของไทยร่วมสมัย จากผลการศึกษาผู้วิจัยเสนอให้การออกแบบโรงอาบน้ำสาธารณะในบริบทไทยร่วมสมัยควรตั้งอยู่บนความเข้าใจในเชิงสังคมวัฒนธรรมและเชิงจริยธรรม โดยอาศัยเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูลแบบมีส่วนร่วมอย่างเกมการ์ดสองมิติ และสามมิติเพื่อให้เกิดแนวทางการออกแบบที่สอดคล้องกับพฤติกรรม วิถีชีวิต และคนในสังคมไทย

งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาผลกระทบของแนวทางการปรับปรุงเปลือกอาคารต่อการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก เพื่อให้ทราบถึงแนวทางการปรับปรุงเปลือกอาคารที่ส่งผลกระทบการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกที่ต่ำที่สุด จากการประเมินสัดส่วนการลดการใช้พลังงานตลอดวัฏจักรชีวิตอาคาร และการเพิ่มขึ้นของวัสดุอาคารของแต่ละแนวทางเลือกจากการเลือกใช้เปลือกอาคาร 4 ประเภท ได้แก่ ฉนวนกันความร้อนผนังทึบ ฉนวนหลังคา กระจกเปลือกอาคาร และแผงบังแดด โดยมีอาคารกรณีศึกษาเป็นอาคารเรียน ปริมาณวัสดุก่อสร้างถูกถอดจากโปรแกรม Autodesk Revit และประเมินการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกตลอดอายุอาคาร 60 ปีด้วยโปรแกรม OneClickLCA ขณะเดียวกัน การใช้พลังงานถูกจำลองและปรับเทียบด้วยโปรแกรม EnergyPlus จากผลการศึกษาทางเลือกทั้งหมด 73 รูปแบบ พบว่าฉนวนกันความร้อนผนังอาคารประเภทเซลลูโลสสามารถลดค่าการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกจากการใช้พลังงานได้ 4.40% และมีการเพิ่มการปล่อยจากวัสดุน้อยที่สุดเพียง 0.9% สำหรับกระจก Low-E แม้จะลดค่าการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกจากการใช้พลังงานได้สูงสุดที่ 8.75% แต่มีค่าการปล่อยจากวัสดุสูงถึง 7.41% ส่วนแผงบังแดดอลูมิเนียมเป็นทางเลือกที่ดีที่สุดในกลุ่มอุปกรณ์บังแดด โดยลดค่าการปล่อยรวมตลอดวัฏจักรชีวิตอาคารได้ 2.67% หากออกแบบให้มีระยะยื่นที่เหมาะสม อย่างไรก็ตาม แม้การปรับปรุงเปลือกอาคารควบคู่กับการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพระบบปรับอากาศและอุปกรณ์ไฟฟ้าจะช่วยลดค่าการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ถึง 13.8% ต่อปี ก็ยังไม่สามารถบรรลุเป้าหมายตามแนวทาง CRREM ได้ หากเพิ่มระบบผลิตไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ร่วมด้วย จะสามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ถึง 67.95% เหลือเพียง 11.74 kgCO₂e/m²/ปี ซึ่งเพียงพอต่อเป้าหมายของ CRREM ภายในปี ค.ศ. 2030

ในอาคารศูนย์บริการรถยนต์ การจัดการด้านการบำรุงรักษาระบบประกอบอาคารและระบบเครื่องกลที่เกี่ยวข้อง เป็นส่วนสำคัญในการสนับสนุนกิจกรรมหลักของอาคารที่เป็นกรณีศึกษาทั้ง 7 แห่ง แต่ละอาคารมีการทำงานแตกต่างกันตามภารกิจหลักของแต่ละศูนย์บริการรถยนต์ ซึ่งแบ่งพื้นที่ทำงานตามลักษณะงานให้สอดคล้องกับขนาดพื้นที่ของอาคาร การศึกษานี้ต้องทำความเข้าใจในกิจกรรมหลัก ซึ่งจะส่งผลให้การจัดการบำรุงรักษามีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผล การศึกษานี้มุ่งเน้นด้านการวางแผนและการจัดการบำรุงรักษา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาหลักการแผนการทำงาน และขอบเขตการปฏิบัติงาน โดยเป็นการศึกษาเชิงประจักษ์ และศึกษาจากข้อมูลเอกสาร จากโครงสร้างหน่วยงานภายในองค์กร จากนั้นนำข้อมูลมาแจกแจงเพื่อวิเคราะห์ลักษณะร่วม ความแตกต่าง เพื่อนำไปสรุปและอภิปรายผลการศึกษา จากผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) อาคารทั้ง 7 แห่ง มีกิจกรรมหลักแตกต่างกัน นอกจากการบริการรถยนต์แล้วมีในส่วนการบริการประกอบด้วยงานขาย ตรวจเช็ค ซ่อม 7 แห่ง งานซ่อมตัวถังและสี 4 แห่ง (ไม่ทำงานซ่อมตัวถังและสี 3 แห่ง) 2) มีช่างบำรุงรักษาระบบ 2 คนเข้าดูแลอาคารทั้ง 7 แห่ง สัปดาห์ละ 1 ครั้ง เพื่อทำงานตามแผนงาน ตามการแจ้งซ่อม และงานที่ไม่ได้วางแผน 3) พบความไม่ชัดเจนในการบำรุงรักษาระบบเครื่องกลในแง่การรับผิดชอบของช่างยนต์ในศูนย์บริการกับช่างอาคารส่วนกลาง 4) จัดจ้างหน่วยงานภายนอกทำงานบำรุงรักษาระบบ และพบข้อจำกัดในการบำรุงรักษาไม่ครอบคลุมทุกระบบ 5) มีการเปลี่ยนถ่ายน้ำมัน มีห้องเก็บน้ำมัน และวัตถุอันตราย มีการทำงานสี มีห้องจัดเก็บสี จึงต้องพิจารณาเพิ่มมาตรการความปลอดภัยด้านอัคคีภัย 6) มีการกำจัดวัตถุที่เป็นอันตรายด้านอัคคีภัย และต่อสุขภาพ 7) มีอาคารอื่นตั้งอยู่ใกล้เคียง ได้แก่ อาคารพาณิชย์ อาคารที่พักอาศัย เป็นต้น จึงต้องคำนึงถึงผลกระทบด้านเสียง กลิ่น และอัคคีภัย สรุปการศึกษานี้พบว่าอาคารประเภทศูนย์บริการรถยนต์ต้องคำนึงถึงความปลอดภัยต่อผู้ใช้อาคาร และอาคารโดยรอบใกล้เคียงซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการรับผิดชอบต่อสังคม

สถาปัตยกรรมอาร์ตเดโค (Art Deco Architecture) เป็นหนึ่งในความหลากหลายของรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมยุคสมัยใหม่ที่เกิดขึ้นในช่วงต้นศตวรรษที่ 20 ถือเป็นรอยต่อระหว่างรูปแบบประวัติศาสตร์นิยมและรูปแบบโมเดิร์น ความทันสมัยแบบอาร์ตเดโคเคยได้รับความนิยมอย่างสูงในตะวันตกช่วงคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1920–1930 และแพร่หลายอย่างต่อเนื่องในภูมิภาคเอเชียจนถึงช่วงราวคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1950 แต่ปัจจุบันเผชิญกับการปรับเปลี่ยนโดยขาดความเข้าใจถึงคุณค่าความสำคัญทางสถาปัตยกรรมของรูปแบบนี้ ในการวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการระบุคุณลักษณะ (Attributes) และความสำคัญทางวัฒนธรรม (Cultural Significance) รวมถึงเพื่อจัดทำข้อเสนอแนะในการสร้างเครื่องมือการระบุคุณลักษณะและประเมินความสำคัญ การวิจัยนี้เลือกกรณีศึกษา อาคารอาร์ตเดโคในย่านเยาวราชและทรงวาด โดยใช้กรอบแนวคิดการอนุรักษ์ฐานคุณค่าประกอบกับข้อมูลอาร์ตเดโคในระดับสากล เพื่อนำมาพัฒนาเกณฑ์ระบุคุณลักษณะในการสำรวจพื้นที่และสรุปความสำคัญ ซึ่งประกอบด้วย บริบทแวดล้อม การจัดพื้นที่ภายใน รูปทรงและรูปด้าน องค์ประกอบการตกแต่ง โครงสร้างและวัสดุ การใช้สอยและความสัมพันธ์ทางสังคมจากรายการอาคารอาร์ตเดโคในพื้นที่ศึกษาจำนวน 35 หลัง ได้คัดเลือกเป็นกรณีศึกษาจำนวน 4 หลัง ศึกษาเชิงลึกด้วยการสำรวจภาคสนาม ผลการศึกษาพบว่า คุณลักษณะด้านสภาพแวดล้อม การใช้สอย และความสัมพันธ์ของอาคารอาร์ตเดโคได้สะท้อนความสำคัญโดดเด่นในด้านการเป็นแหล่งความรู้และหลักฐานของการพัฒนาย่านชุมชนการค้าชาวจีนสมัยใหม่ในกรุงเทพฯ ช่วงราวปี พ.ศ. 2480–พ.ศ. 2500 (ค.ศ. 1930–1950) รวมถึงคุณลักษณะด้านองค์ประกอบทางกายภาพที่มีความสำคัญด้านสถาปัตยกรรมและสังคม แสดงถึงการนำเสนอแนวทางการออกแบบที่แตกต่างจากเดิม ความก้าวหน้าของวัสดุและเทคโนโลยี การก่อสร้าง สะท้อนรสนิยมของผู้คนในท้องถิ่นและการปรับตัวให้เข้ากับบริบท ข้อเสนอแนะจากการศึกษาชี้ว่า การสร้างเครื่องมือควรพิจารณาตั้งแต่รูปทรงและองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรม ครอบคลุมไปถึงประเด็นด้านสภาพแวดล้อม ด้านการใช้สอย ความสัมพันธ์และความหมายที่เชื่อมโยงกัน เปิดกว้างถึงความแตกต่างของบริบทและช่วงเวลาที่ส่งผลให้เกิดรูปแบบอาร์ตเดโคที่มีความหลากหลายในแต่ละพื้นที่
