The Outdoor Exercise Area Renovation project revitalizes a well-used outdoor exercise area located near the baseball fields at Cal Poly. The existing exercise equipment, originally donated by Maino Construction, was weathered, but the area remained well-utilized and presented potential for revitalization. This project transforms the site into a functional and resilient space by replacing the pull-up and dip bar equipment, constructing a 300 square foot pavilion, and adding a concrete slab and integrated concrete benches. The new design enhances usability, providing a multifunctional area for the Cal Poly community to exercise, socialize, relax, and enjoy scenic views.

Since Egypt is urbanizing rapidly, office buildings suffer from severe thermal comfort and energy efficiency issues. Poor insulation and high temperatures result in heavy energy consumption in cooling. This study proposes the application of hydroponic green walls to enhance thermal performance and aesthetics in urban office buildings. With these exterior walls integrated into building facades, issues of heavy energy consumption due to poor insulation and high temperatures are resolved. Implementing plastic waste in construction materials is a sustainable disposal method to overcome plastic pollution. The current study aims to optimize the integration of plastic waste in cement bricks regarding their thermomechanical properties in order to develop an eco‑friendly building material. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high‑density polyethylene (HDPE) partially substituted cement with different ratios (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 20%). The goal of this research is to determine the structural parameters of the recycled plastic polypropylene when molded into bricks resembling CMU blocks. To accomplish this, three mechanisms had to be assembled: the shredder, the injector, and the 1x1 mold. The aim of this work is to present a case study for implementing a solar- energy-based electric vehicle charging station (for the first time on a campus in Egypt) at the British University in Egypt. This provides insights for reducing the environmental impacts of building materials and elements along the life cycle of a concrete residential project in Egypt. The study follows the LCA ISO 14040 and 14044 guidelines, local materials database, Revit modelling and One-Click LCA plugin.
