Walls that replicate masonry walls used in Tanzania are constructed and tested. The results from testing was compared with the respective predictions made using code guidelines from ASCE 7 and TMS 402.

The Blue Mountain Residence is a new, single family residence located in Jefferson County, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. It is located close to the front range at an elevation of 7,600 ft. The owner and architect of the residence is Cherie Goff of HMH Architecture in Boulder, Colorado. The house is mostly of wood construction with elements of steel and concrete. Este estudio tiene el propósito de determinar los aportes del cemento a la arquitectura republicana en un período de tiempo comprendido entre 1910-1932, en Bogotá, Colombia. Para esta época se adelantaban procesos de industrialización en la capital del país y el cemento fue novedoso aportando a la evolución técnica, ornamental y funcional de la arquitectura. Esto se logró determinar gracias al análisis de tres casos de estudio: El Quiosco de la Luz (1910), El Edifi cio Pedro A. López (1919-123) y el Edifi cio Piedrahita (1930-1939) contrastando sus características arquitectónicas con las de edifi caciones de estilo colonial y republicano …
