It is the intent of this guide to provide basic statistical information and to locate housing projects so that anyone may visit the projects and …

For many years, greenroofs have been utilized by European architects and developers, who have realized their many benefits. The United States has, to date, been slow to embrace the concept. The intent of this report is to reveal the benefits of greenroofs in hopes of stimulating their use in this country.

Martyr's Square & The Grand Axis Of Beirut, Greg Boudrero
Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects
From Beirut to Mostar, from London to the center of Berlin, from Warsaw to Jerusalem, from the cities in Europe to the cities of Africa, from Vietnam to Cambodia, everywhere, after the ravages of war comes the necessity for reconstruction. Such is the present case of Beirut, Lebanon. As the city recovers from years of civil war it strives to create a new identity, re-establishing the city's presence in the region.

United Methodist Church Campus Plan, Jason Val Betts
Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects
The United Methodist Church Campus project site is located at 1200 E. South Weber Drive in Ogden Utah. The planning for this project started in 1998 and will continue for several years to come (Appendix A). I was asked as a student of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Utah State University to prepare an illustrative schematic master plan for the project site. The following document will provide my findings upon doing a site inventory and analysis as well as a master plan for the Community United Methodist Church (CUMC).

At Home In The City: Urban Domesticity In American Literature And Culture, 1850-1930, Elizabeth Klima
University of New Hampshire Press: Open Access Books
An interdisciplinary study of urban literature and domestic architecture in the United States from 1850-1930. With chapters on the hotel, Central Park, tenement houses, and apartment buildings, At Home in the City juxtaposes literary criticism with a history of the built environment to show the inception of American modernity. Works treated include: The Blithedale Romance by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ruth Hall by Fanny Fern, The Bostonians by Henry James, How the Other Half Lives by Jacob Riis, Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser, The Custom of the Country by Edith Wharton, Charlotte Perkins Gilman's feminist urban utopias, and Nella Larsen's Quicksand.

Building For The Future: The Aspirational Architecture Of Edith Cowan University, Glenys Haalebos
Research outputs pre 2011
When ECU decided to re-locate its headquarters, it not only made history- becoming the first modern university in Australia to take such a bold move - it also began a process of immense symbolic and strategic importance for its future. It was symbolic because, as this book illustrates, the University used inspirational architecture to create a powerful new public persona. It was strategic because these beautiful and functional structures have significantly enhanced our reputation as a provider of quality teaching and research and established us as a committed, energetic partner with our surrounding communities.
The Influence Of British Culture On The Advance Of Modern Architecture In The United Kingdom, Shannon K. Holt
The Influence Of British Culture On The Advance Of Modern Architecture In The United Kingdom, Shannon K. Holt
Honors Program Theses
Through exploring literature, conducting on-site observations and living in London, I have examined these questions with respect to the history of Modem architecture and Britain's respective role in it, the history of Britain and of their urban planning and architectural needs, the introduction of the Modem style and the subsequent backlash, the influence of the Prince of Wales, and the direct influence of the culture itself. I have attempted to analyze both the history, the present, and to speculate on the future of the Modem movement in the United Kingdom.
