The study aims to determine the behavior of the extract from the red phenotype of maca in the in vitro gastrointestinal tract model and also to define the overall impact of the extract on the microbiota. Spatial transcriptomics enables the scoring of Cancer Hallmarks at a high resolution across a tissue biopsy, yet current analyses of these data remain largely descriptive, treating each spot as a static, independent observation. This thesis develops a coupled system of advection-diffusion-reaction partial differential equations to model the hallmark landscape as the steady-state solution of an underlying spatial process, and casts the recovery of its physical parameters as a PDE-constrained inverse problem. Previous studies have described sand dune morphology, transport, collection, and distribution patterns utilizing Cassini Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS), Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS), and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. Background. Smoking remains a significant health problem in Indonesia. Although anti-smoking information is disseminated through various media, exposure levels and effectiveness among adults are not clearly documented.

Objective. To describe the proportion of anti-smoking information exposure among Indonesian adults by media type (television, radio, billboards, newspaper/magazines, internet, and others) and compare exposure between smokers and non-smokers using GATS 2021 data.

Methods. Cross-sectional study using Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) Indonesia 2021 data. A total of 9,156 respondents aged ≥15 years were analyzed descriptively to determine exposure proportions by smoking status across multiple media channels.

Anoxic brain injury (ABI) is a non-traumatic injury; may result from cardiac arrest, suffocation, drowning, choking, and other acute causes. ABI often results in persistent neurologic changes and developmental abilities. These include vision, speech, swallow, walking, and other areas of daily living.  The severity of injury is variable, and in the most severely affected families and medical providers weigh life-prolonging interventions such as tracheostomy, despite the potential for persistent neurologic impairment. Infants with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass often develop intestinal barrier dysfunction, microbial dysbiosis, and systemic inflammation that may impair postoperative recovery. This retrospective cohort study compared postoperative outcomes between infants receiving human breast milk (n = 15) and formula (n = 15) after congenital heart surgery. Clinical, microbiome, inflammatory, and gut barrier data were analyzed. Infants fed human breast milk demonstrated greater bacterial diversity, reduced gut barrier dysfunction and inflammation, shorter intensive care unit and hospital lengths of stay, and lower vasoactive-inotropic scores compared with formula-fed infants. The rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae has significantly reduced the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics, highlighting the need for alternative therapeutic strategies. This study employed a comprehensive in silico pipeline to identify antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) targeting the essential DNA replication initiator protein DnaA. A total of 28,361 peptide sequences were collected from publicly available AMP databases and sequentially filtered based on peptide length, net charge, GRAVY score, instability index, antimicrobial activity, toxicity, hemolytic potential, aggregation propensity, sequence similarity and favorable amphipathic properties. The present thesis examines if interspersing guiding questions between sections of an expository text can mitigate the seductive details effect, in which the addition of interesting but tangentially related information to the base text may hinder the ability to learn the essential material, for typically developing children. Participants were given two passages to read, one with seductive details and one without. They either had no guiding questions for both passages or guiding questions interspersed between the text of both passages. They were given retention and comprehension assessments for both passages. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 12-week standardized exercise program on quality of life and functional capabilities in adults with SCI. Participants completed a self-guided exercise program consisting of aerobic and strengthening activities performed twice weekly for 12 weeks. Large language models (LLMs) create contexts in which individual differences may shape reliance on digital systems. Drawing on neurodiversity, this study examined whether perceived trustworthiness of user’s primary LLM mediates associations between attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) traits and LMM dependencyinstrumental and relationship LLM dependency. Adults in the UK (n = 567) and China (n = 577) reported ADHD traits, perceived LLM trustworthiness of LLM, and both types of dependency. Across samples, higher ADHD traits were associated with lower trustworthiness, whereas greater trustworthiness was associated with greater instrumental and relationship dependency, yielding negative indirect effects.
