Libraries are often expected to create joy for others, yet many library workers continue to experience burnout, dissatisfaction, and disconnection. This session explores how one academic library implemented a staff-led, administration-supported approach to rebuilding workplace culture through collective, low-cost, and capacity-aware strategies. Centered on the work of an internal advisory group, this model creates structured opportunities for feedback, collaboration, and shared decision-making while introducing small, intentional interventions that foster connection, recognition, and belonging. Purpose: To examine how bouncy bands put onto elementary students’ classroom desks influenced students’ physical activity and attention/concentration, in addition to exploring students’/teachers’ opinions of the bands. Methods: Students within both experimental and control groups wore pedometers to assess movement during instruction and completed the d2 test for attention. Results: The group with bouncy bands on the desks had significantly more movement compared to the control group. For d2 scores, there was no significant difference between the two groups, nor was there a significant linear relationship between movement and d2 scores. Abstract

Purpose: To compare dosimetric outcomes between volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT)-only and hybrid VMAT plus three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) techniques for accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) in patients with early-stage left-sided breast cancer.

Methods and Materials: Thirty patients treated with APBI at a single institution were retrospectively replanned using both VMAT-only and hybrid (VMAT + 3D-CRT) techniques. All plans were prescribed 26 Gy in 5 fractions. Each patient was planned using the same target volumes, optimization objectives, and evaluation criteria for both techniques. This staff education quality improvement project at Clinic P targeted the clinical problem of depression under-diagnosis, evidenced by less than 60% of patients completing the patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) before the initiative. Depression under-diagnosis, significantly caused by provider PHQ-9 screening competency deficits that need to be addressed through staff education, is associated with adverse patient health outcomes, in turn generating negative implications for providers and wider society. The problem compromises the quality of nursing care because it limits nurses' ability to intervene and deliver timely and effective care to patients with depression. This staff education project evaluated the effects of a structured verbal de-escalation training program on self-efficacy among staff in a federal correctional mental health unit. Staff at the site often reported uncertainty managing escalating behaviors, leading to frequent use of restrictive interventions like restraints and seclusion—practices that can compromise safety, quality of care, and raise ethical concerns. To address this gap, an evidence-based curriculum was implemented for 41 multidisciplinary staff, including nurses, certified nursing assistants, and correctional officers. A comprehensive review of evidence from CINAHL Complete, PubMed/MEDLINE, and Cochrane supports the use of culturally tailored, evidence-based dietary education to improve diabetes knowledge, self-management behaviors, and health outcomes. Lack of transparency in handoff knowledge and ineffective documents posed a risk of delayed care and patient injuries. The southern flying squirrel (Glaucomys volans) is a threatened species in Nebraska that occurs along the Missouri River in the southeastern corner of the state. Recently, a population was discovered in the city of Lincoln, but it is unknown whether this population represents a natural range expansion from the Missouri River population or whether it is isolated and results from a human-assisted movement. A survey of southern flying squirrels in Nebraska is needed, but surveys of this elusive species are challenging. These data are a supplement to the MS thesis, “Variability of Howitzer Artillery Infrasound Recorded in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah”, by Department of Geosciences student, Owen Walsh. Data provided are for howitzer artillery infrasound signals recorded by six infrasound microphones (infraBSU v2) from March 22 through April 5, 2023 in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, USA. This dataset consists of 142, 20-second signals sampled at 100 Hz. Data provided have been filtered using a 0.5 Hz (2-second) highpass, acausal, 2-pole butterworth filter.

Since the enactment of the earliest migration laws in the United States, people with disabilities have been targeted for exclusion and expulsion based on stereotypes that they are either dangerous or not productive. Although some of the pejorative language regarding disability in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) has changed over time, certain statutory provisions and the very structure of the INA still allow ableism to operate broadly in immigration adjudications. Problem

Hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) remain a costly patient safety concern with increased morbidity and prolonged hospitalization. Inconsistent admission skin assessment documentation in a 24-bed overflow medical–surgical microsystem led to delayed wound identification and misclassification.

Context

A baseline needs assessment (n = 15) identified key barriers, including low nurse confidence utilizing Rover (mobile software application) and linking photos to the LDA (lines-drains-airway) in the electronic health record.

Strategic Insights

This commentary considers how artificial intelligence and rapidly evolving information environments are changing the conditions for military decision advantage. Building on the OODA loop and the expanded dOODAc framework, the authors argue that effective decision-making depends not only on speed and accuracy, but also on maintaining alignment between institutional cognition and an operational environment that continues to change during the decision cycle. The article introduces temporal synchronization as an important dimension of decision advantage in cognitive warfare, highlighting the challenge of keeping military decisions relevant as informational, behavioral, psychological, and social conditions evolve.

Plant transposable elements and transgenes are continuously targeted for transcriptional repression via the pathway of RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM). Although perpetual RdDM of the endogenous genomic loci has been well studied in the field, much less is known about the de novo RdDM pathway, the pioneering round of DNA methylation responsible for triggering and initiating silencing of new transgenes.
