Reliable WiFi coverage hinges on the strategic placement and accurate configuration of access points (APs). Traditional, manual AP placements are time consuming, costly, and suboptimal. This disclosure describes techniques that leverage the A* search algorithm to determine optimal AP placements/configurations. Given a set of AP placements/configurations and a metric that captures the difference between the network coverage of a particular AP placement and a target network coverage, an AP placement/configuration is found that optimizes WiFi coverage while minimizing the number of APs and their configuration complexities. A new technique for impulse noise discrimination of medical MRI images is presented. Statistical F-distribution supported by Monte Carlo simulation for prediction of impulse noise location on distorted images is used. The selective noisy pixels are detected as noisy using the One-Way ANOVA hypothesis method. The statistical prediction method is applied to the test images to predict the noise location. The distorted portions in the images predicted by this structure are improved by using a proper nonlinear filter. This study explores how personal and workplace-related factors influence perceived stress, anxiety, and depression among individuals in Japan, particularly those in salaryman-type occupations. Participants completed a self-report survey assessing variables such as number of children, work hours, perceived job control, esteem, influence, and promotional opportunities. The data was analyzed using bivariate Pearson correlations to identify relationships between these variables and mental health outcomes. Results revealed several significant findings. A strong positive correlation was found between the number of children and depression levels, while longer working hours were associated with decreased feelings of job reward, though not with increased stress. This presentation is on the icy moons of Jupiter and Saturn, Europa and Enceladus. They are both known for being relatively large moons of gas giants made of a lot of water ice with silicate cores. Both are also suspected to harbor liquid oceans underneath their icy surfaces, sustained by salinity and tidal heating. Liquid water is of extreme interest to astrobiologists, which this paper will address, but it is primarily about tidal heating and its implications for the size of the subsurface oceans.

This thesis explores how Gloria Anzaldúa’s Borderlands/La Frontera (1987) and Helena María Viramontes’ short story “The Cariboo Café” (1985) portray marginalized individuals navigating liminal spaces of identity, oppression, and survival. Borderlands/La Frontera and “The Cariboo Café” show how systematic violence and displacement shatter the self, pushing characters to navigate trauma in a dystopian space. Sonya, Macky, the café owner, and the grieving mother represent Anzaldúa’s concepts of borderland subjectivity, betrayal, and spectral haunting.

This study aims to identify the impact of cattle grazing on the water quality of Stoner Creek, located in North Middletown, KY. Cattle grazing can impact water quality in numerous ways. In this study, water quality was examined using the following parameters: water temperature (°C), pH (SU), dissolved oxygen (mg/L), conductivity (μS/cm), and Escherichia coli (E. coli) colonies per 100 mL of water. Results show that Site 3 (Cattle access point) had the greatest average conductivity at 465 μS/cm. Sites 3 and 4 showed the highest turbidity. Acquiesced sex is “consenting to and engaging in undesired sexual activity” (Benoit & Ronis, 2022, p. 577). Research has found that perceptions of acquiesced sex are related to demographic variables, such as gender, and conditions, such as the relationship status of actors in a vignette. The present study considers whether variables such as gender and verbal assertiveness of the research participant affects ascription of responsibility for acquiesced heterosexual sex across two conditions (stranger and dating couple).
