Bulletin No. 87 - The Codling Moth, E. D. Ball Mar 1904

Bulletin No. 87 - The Codling Moth, E. D. Ball

UAES Bulletins

The codling moth has been in the State of Utah for over twenty-five years and is now injuriously abundant in every apple-growing section. It is by far the worst pest with which the fruit grower has to contend. In fact, it usually does more damage than all the other fruit insects put together.

It occurs throughout every apple-growing region of the United States, and is found in almost every country where the apple is grown, destroying from one-fourth to three-fourths of the apple crop where no effort is made to check its ravages. Dr. Howard the United States Entomologist, recently …

The Anchor, Volume 17.03: March 1, 1904, Hope College

The Anchor: 1904

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Jurisdiction Over Foreign Ships In Territorial Waters, Charles Noble Gregory Feb 1904

Jurisdiction Over Foreign Ships In Territorial Waters, Charles Noble Gregory

Michigan Law Review

War, says Grotius, "is undertaken for the sake of peace." So discussion is undertaken for the sake of conclusions. If the conclusions are not as definite as could be wished in the present instance, it is hoped that it is not wholly due to the indolence or incompetency of the writer, but in large part to the difficulties presented by the overlapping of municipal and international laws, and by the lack of any final tribunal which can adjust and end differences. Again Grotius, and there is no better authority, quotes approvingly certain rules of mercy as part of the law …

30th Annual Report Of The Woman's Board Of Foreign Missions, Reformed Church In America

Woman’s Board of Foreign Missions Annual Reports

The Woman’s Board of Foreign Missions (WBFM) of the RCA was organized in 1875 in Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan. Thirteen women, in response to a recommendation of the 1874 General Synod, met to commit themselves to the proposition that women in all parts of the world had a right to a Christian life. Through prayer and monetary gifts, the WBFM supported the schools established by the RCA for women and children at the various mission stations. The organization continued until 1946 when it was absorbed into the Board of Foreign Missions of the RCA. The collection includes annual reports.
