The general concept of the mixed-media performance art is to show how Tiktok can be seen through the point of view of individuals and to show the reality that these women face, the struggles of one’s body image are negatively impacted by an online platform full of heavily edited and crucial content about body image. The objective of the artwork is to have the audience’s attention on the effects of TikTok on an individual. The Duterte administration, which lasted from 2016 to 2022, incited a multitude of human rights violations against the marginalized groups of Philippine society, namely women, and the poor. It was discovered and established through literature that these injustices can primarily be attributed to the former president’s hypermasculinity, a manifestation of hegemonic masculinity in the contemporary era. The development of physical and digital teaching and learning spaces in higher education has been the focus of attention from researchers in recent years. Teaching spaces on campus, and the campus itself, have been reconsidered in light of pedagogical, technological, political, ecological, and social changes influencing higher education over the past three decades. Spaces are historically under-researched in higher education, and the area is under-theorised with a failure to recognise space as a mediator of learning. The fleeting nature of life and the resulting transformation of inhabited spaces into artefacts that take on different socio-spatial forms through temporary shelters such as cabins, tents, and trailers is a major theme explored particularly in the 1960s and 1970s that introduced the concept of time into the formation of transient communities. This article focuses on the issue of the endless interior generated by transience in group living linked to tourism and recreational leisure, specifically elective nomadism, which represents alternative models of colonisation and the relationship between habitat and nature. (Un)Learning Aesethetics: Pedagogy And The Perceptual Ecology Of Class Struggle, Derek R. Ford, Daniela Chaparro '21

Education Studies Faculty publications

Materialist approaches to aesthetics historicize our sensuous capacities, orientations, and objects by attending to their ongoing production. This article begins by articulating capital not as an “economic” system but as a broader perceptual ecology that produces particular correspondences between subjects and the world. In response to the clear limits of ideology critique we argue that not only is capitalist ideology reproduced educationally but that pedagogical challenges to capital need to generate experiences with alternative collective perceptual realities that exist in the present. In our current conjuncture, such experiences are political insofar as they help rejuvenate the belief in the possibility …
