Exploring The Determinants Of Operating Room Utilization: A Scoping Review Of Influential Factors In Surgical Efficiency, Isma Sari Chumairah, Masyitoh Basabih

Jurnal ARSI : Administrasi Rumah Sakit Indonesia

Optimal utilization of the operating room (OR) is a crucial element in improving the efficiency of surgical services and hospital performance. This scoping review aimed to identify and map the factors influencing OR utilization based on recent scientific literature. We conducted a scoping review using the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework and reported it according to the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. We systematically searched PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect for articles published between 2015 and 2025. Eligible studies were screened, and information on study characteristics and reported determinants of OR utilization was extracted and summarized descriptively. Forty studies were included. The reported determinants clustered into …

“If It Can Tell A Story”: The Past, Present, And Future Of Musical Crossroads, Christian M. Folk, Dwandalyn Reece

Visions of Research in Music Education

The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), part of the Smithsonian Institution (SI) complex in Washington, D.C., is the only SI museum with a permanent music exhibition, titled Musical Crossroads. I traced the development of Musical Crossroads from the perspectives of three key figures in the exhibit’s history using narrative inquiry: Dr. Dwandalyn Reece, former curator of music and performing arts; Dr. Kevin Strait, a former curatorial assistant for the exhibition; and Ms. Hannah Grantham, a current curatorial and research assistant for NMAAHC. These narratives are bound by temporality, sociality, and place, highlighting the crux of …

Irish Journal of Academic Practice

The number of third-level Irish students diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is increasing. Yet there is limited research documenting the lived experience of ADHD students in Ireland. This article aims to document the student voice of Irish third-level students diagnosed with ADHD and to explore their ADHD-related difficulties, as well as their suggestions for more supportive and inclusive university practices. The research used a two-stage qualitative design involving seven individual semi-structured online interviews, followed by one member checking via group online interview. There were seven participants, aged 19–28, from six different higher education institutions in Ireland, including two …

The 1778 Fort Pitt Treaty: U.S. Relations With The Lenni-Lenape Nation And The Unraveling Of Early Promises, Veronica E. Riddle

Masters Theses

This study examines the Treaty of Fort Pitt (1778), signed in present-day Pittsburgh, as the first formal diplomatic agreement between the United States and the Lenape (Delaware) Nation during the American Revolutionary War. Formed amid the military and political instability of the Revolution, the treaty promised mutual military assistance, recognition of Lenape sovereignty west of the Alleghenies, protection from settler encroachment, and the unprecedented possibility of Native representation within the emerging American confederation. However, following the deaths of key Lenape leaders, escalating frontier violence, and the failure of the Continental Congress to ratify or uphold critical provisions, the treaty rapidly …

Recommendations For Advancing Elementary Music Education For Students With Disabilities In Skyline Ridge School District, Dawn Marie Schafer

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

The purpose of this applied research study was to provide recommendations to advance music instruction to students with disabilities at sixteen elementary schools in the Skyline Ridge School District (SRSD). The problem was that there was evidence of low musicianship and music participation in students with disabilities in the middle schools in SRSD. The rationale for this study was that students with disabilities may be capable of achieving musicianship as well as any other student. For this reason, music educators must be prepared to set them up for success. The central research question was: How can the elementary music teachers …

What About R&B? The Undefined American Music Genre, Asha Brown

Masters Theses

The research presented in this thesis seeks to provide insight into the value and representation of R&B music in American culture, history, and scholarly works. To advocate for the accurate classification of Rhythm and Blues as a distinct musical genre? Data collected throughout the research process explores the sociological factors that influence tastes in particular music. While the American and music history of the thesis provide foundational evidence of the genre’s influence and relevance, input from research participants supports a hypothesis on the sociological aspects. The conclusion suggests that, though there are multiple factors to consider, many popular music genres …

Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences

Background/aim: This noninferiority trial aimed to evaluate whether the serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block (SPSIPB) provides noninferior postoperative analgesia compared with the thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) after unilateral mastectomy.

Materials and methods: This prospective, randomized, assessor-blinded, parallel-group noninferiority trial enrolled 60 female patients scheduled for elective unilateral mastectomy. Patients received either ultrasound-guided SPSIPB (n = 30) or TPVB (n = 30) with 30 mL of 0.25% bupivacaine before induction. The primary outcome was visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores (0–100 mm) at rest and during coughing over 24 h. Noninferiority was assessed using the Hodges–Lehmann median difference with 95% …
