Gardner-Webb Alumnus To Perform Nativity Drama On Campus On Dec. 2, Office Of University Communications
Gardner-Webb NewsCenter Archive
Gardner-Webb University will host stage performer and GWU alumnus Nathan Rouse (’02) on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the final Dimensions program of the fall semester. Rouse will perform part of the nativity drama, “The Birth,” a theatrical production he has directed and performed for nine years to tell the Christmas story through the monologue perspectives of the innkeeper, the wise man, and the shepherd. The show takes place on a mostly empty stage, where actors speak, sing and dance to transport the audience to the nativity scene through imagination.
All But Thesis: On Dealing With Academic Anxiety At The Graduate Level, Angela Schnabel
All But Thesis: On Dealing With Academic Anxiety At The Graduate Level, Angela Schnabel
Theses and Dissertations
"All But Thesis: On Dealing with Academic Anxiety at the Graduate Level" is a marriage of autoethnography and memoir framed in principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that recounts my struggle with academic anxiety at the graduate level. I found no other first-person narratives on this topic, so my thesis sets out to bridge that gap. Psychology and the library, educational, and informational sciences fields discuss perfectionism and procrastination as causes of academic anxiety, so here I explore the roles those concepts play in my own anxiety issues. A reflexive journal quantified my progress throughout the semester, it rates my anxiety …

What. What. What. Clinical Judgment In Tanzanian Nurse Education, R. Kent Thompson
Theses
This study explored two facets of clinical judgment in Tanzanian nurse education. The first was to examine the perceptions of Tanzanian nurses regarding the use of clinical judgment during their nursing education. The second purpose was to scrutinize perceived benefits and obstacles of establishing approaches to the development of clinical judgment in Tanzanian nurses. The sample consisted of ten Tanzanian nurses whose experience ranged from two to eighteen years. A qualitative research design of phenomenology was used in designing a semi-structured interview guide to conduct the interviews

An Unfinished Joruney: Arctic Indigenous Rights, Lands, And Jurisdiction?, Tony Penikett
An Unfinished Joruney: Arctic Indigenous Rights, Lands, And Jurisdiction?, Tony Penikett
Seattle University Law Review
The indigenous rights movement has been defined as a struggle for land and jurisdiction. Over the last forty years, American and Canadian governments made much progress on the land question in the Arctic and sub-Arctic; however, from an irrational fear of the unknown, politicians in Washington, D.C. and Ottawa have effectively blocked the pathways to aboriginal jurisdiction or self-government. During the late-twentieth century in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, as well as in Nisga’a territory, indigenous governments negotiated local government powers, but continent-wide progress on the question of indigenous jurisdiction has stalled. This Article considers the formation and implementation …
