End The Popularity Contest: A Proposal For Second Amendment "Type Of Weapon" Analysis, Cody J. Jacobs
Tennessee Law Review
The Supreme Court's recognition in District of Columbia v. Heller of an individual Second Amendment right to bear arms for self defense raised many questions about the scope of that right. One issue that will become increasingly important in the years ahead, but that has received relatively little attention from scholars and courts, is the question of which "arms" are protected by that right. Heller purports to establish a test that asks whether the weapon at issue is in "common use" at the time the case is decided. This Article critiques that test, arguing that it creates poor incentives, is …

History
Cathal Brugha Street College was formally known as Saint Mary's College of Domestic Science. The building was designed by Robinson and Keefe Architects as an Institute for Women's work, and incorporates many of the features used in their earlier Technical School and Library in Marino Mart, Fairview. The sculpture at the corner of the building nearest O'Connell Street by Hayes, shows women displaying the skills learned in the College, such as knitting.

SOLON Law, Crime and History (previously SOLON Crimes and Misdemeanours: Deviance and the Law in Historical Perspective)
This paper explores the historical context behind the emergence of the due process value system which lies at the heart of the Anglo-American legal tradition. By demonstrating, in particular, the reformative impact which the emergence of adversarial sensibilities in the late eighteenth century had in relieving the testimonial obligations of an accused, the paper explores the shift which occurred during this period towards an inculpatory model of justice. Significantly, this inculpatory model rejected the pro-prosecutorial bias which had epitomised the pursuit for justice in seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Moreover, whereas the antecedent exculpatory justice model was predicated upon the …
