Creating The Role Of Passerby And Stationmaster In The Cherry Orchard, Selwyn Ofori

This paper will serve as a thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. It is a detailed account of Selwyn Ofori's artistic process in creating the role of Passerby and Stationmaster in Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard staged at Ted Paul at Minnesota State University, Mankato in Spring 2026. This thesis entails the actor's analysis from pre-production till performance in five chapters, namely: pre-production analysis, historical and critical perspective, journals, post-production analysis, process development, and appendix. The sources of my research are also recorded in the works cited.

Occasional Papers on Religion in Eastern Europe

This article examines Theodor Zekler’s educational and welfare institutions in Eastern Galicia from the late nineteenth to the first half of the twentieth century. It analyzes their genesis, stages of institutionalization, organizational structure, and socio-cultural role in the region. The study shows that the orphanages, schools, boarding facilities, and other charitable and educational institutions founded by Zekler combined the functions of care, education, moral and religious formation, and social integration. Particular attention is paid to the interconnection of pedagogical, confessional, and philanthropic principles in the operation of these institutions. This paper explores the concept of moral rearmament in contemporary East-Central Europe through the historical and religious legacy of Polish anti-communist opposition figure Janusz Krupski (1951–2010). Responding to sociologist Frank Furedi’s critique regarding the "moral disarmament" of the West, the author contends that religion serves as an essential—and frequently overlooked—pillar in restoring historical consciousness and moral resilience against totalitarian and geopolitical threats.

Analysis of the Orthodox theological tradition as a moral foundation for military leadership in the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the full-scale war. The study moves beyond pragmatic managerial models, exploring Orthodox categories such as service (diakonia), sacrifice, and spiritual warfare. Drawing on patristic heritage and modern theologians, the authors examine leadership motivation, the role of faith in professional resilience, and the integration of Orthodox anthropology into military training. Special emphasis is placed on the Orthodox Church of Ukraine's chaplaincy as a key mechanism for actualizing these values while addressing challenges like secularism and multiconfessionalism.

While this technology is only one of the myriad ways that generative AI is set to change Hollywood, debates about its use reflect a throughline in debates about AI generally: Can this technology do a convincing, much less desirable, job of what humans have done before? A wave of nostalgia for the American Frontier enshrined the region’s idealized nineteenth-century past as myth. Background Gynecologic masses are the most common subject of gynecologic imaging. The usefulness of MRI is high in the characterization of adnexal masses. The ADNEX MR classification framework was launched to stratify sonographically identified adnexal masses in to five groups based on their probability of malignancy: grade 1 (no lesion), grade 2 (benign), grade 3 (probably benign), grade 4 (indeterminate), and grade 5 (probably malignant). This thesis examines how subversive artists use autonomy and memory to imagine new ways of existing beyond systemic violence. Through analysis of theory and performance studies, it highlights the efforts and risks these artists take to challenge representation and the political aspects of embodiment. In the 1820s, several new interdenominational societies distributed Bibles and tracts, formed Sunday Schools, and launched missions in areas of the city that lacked a religious presence. Another society called the New York Magdalen Society (hereafter, NYMS) was formed on January 1, 1830, to rescue women from prostitution. “Till Death Does Us Part,” is a ceramic work created by Milo Rippe in the fall of 2025. The installation includes fifteen faceless figures, ten organ-inspired plates, and one big central figure. Also featured are three homemade stains and two homemade glazes. The figures are hand-built from slabs, combined to form a single piece. The plates were also cut from slabs, and then hand-rolled rims were added to each shape with slip. Stains and glazes are made by methodically measuring out each ingredient on a triple-beam scale, combining all ingredients with water, and running the mixture through a strainer to …

Controversial histories, such as the Troubles in Northern Ireland, are often excluded from formal education, forming a "null curriculum" due to their political sensitivity, emotional difficulty, and risk of bias or re-traumatising students. To address this, Historically-Structured Boardgames (HSBGs) offer an innovative pedagogical approach, engaging students cognitively and emotionally while navigating sensitive historical terrain.

HSBGs like "The Troubles: Shadow War in Northern Ireland 1964-1998" embed players within historically accurate socio-political and economic structures, emphasising player agency and the consequences of their actions. This paper examines how certain musicals achieve lasting popularity despite initial failure, in the eyes of critics, by developing cult followings. Drawing on theories of camp aesthetics and fandom, this paper explores how exaggerated, unconventional, and "campy" elements, often rejected by critics, become the qualities that attract niche audiences. Using examples of certain musicals, such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ride the Cyclone, Heathers, and Carrie, I argue that cult musicals survive and thrive because audiences actively participate in sustaining them.
