Doc 2026-06 Department/Program Merger: Department Of Visual And Performing Arts, University Of Dayton. College Of Arts And Sciences
Senate Documents
This proposal is a proactive realignment, not simply a reaction to external pressures. We must thoughtfully respond to the evolving university landscape, which includes shifts in student enrollment, a smaller faculty body, and increased budgetary pressures. This merger presents a significant opportunity. By combining our strengths, we can create a more integrated and dynamic faculty and student experience, steward our resources more effectively, and build a shared, revitalized plan to elevate the visibility and impact of the arts at the University of Dayton.
We anticipate this merger will create significant operational and financial efficiencies, allowing us to redirect resources to …
Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl

Taylor Theatre Playbills
The playbill for Taylor University's performance of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.
Performed February 20-22, 2026 and February 27-March 1, 2026 in the Mitchell Theatre at Taylor University.
Eurydice, written by Sarah Ruhl, retells teh familiar myth of Orpheus - but this time, the story unfolds from Eurydice's perspective. That shift matters. Instead of centering heroic rescue, the play centers interior experience: grief as it is felt, memory as it flickers, love as it is complicated by loyalty, doubt, and longing. By allowing Eurydice to be the narrative voice, the play asks us to inhabit loss from the inside rather …

Artsksu Presents Professional Series: Kronos Quartet
Artsksu Presents Professional Series: Kronos Quartet
Bailey School of Music Concert Programs
For 50 years, San Francisco’s Kronos Quartet—David Harrington (violin), Gabriela Díaz (violin), Ayane Kozasa (viola), and Paul Wiancko (cello)—has challenged and reimagined what a string quartet can be. Founded at a time when the form was largely centered on long-established, Western European traditions, Kronos has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the string quartet into a living art form that responds to the people and issues of our time. We are delighted to welcome them to the Bailey Performance Center at KSU!
Jealously Guarded: The Right To Trial By Jury In Federal Court Under California’S Unruh Civil Rights Act, Denis Bogatin
Jealously Guarded: The Right To Trial By Jury In Federal Court Under California’S Unruh Civil Rights Act, Denis Bogatin
Pepperdine Law Review
Since California adopted heightened pleading standards for high-frequency litigants alleging violations of the Unruh Act in state court, federal district courts have seen a surge of ADA and Unruh Act claims filed together to secure subject matter jurisdiction. Most courts dismissed the Unruh claims under their discretionary authority under 28 U.S.C. § 1367, but they remained divided on whether plaintiffs in these cases have a right to jury trial—statutory or constitutional. In 2025, the Ninth Circuit resolved part of the split in In re Tsay, holding that the Unruh Act provides a constitutional right to a jury trial because it …
The Power To Declare Peace, Michael Stokes Paulsen
The Power To Declare Peace, Michael Stokes Paulsen
Pepperdine Law Review
The Constitution gives Congress the power “to declare War.” The meaning of that grant of power is much debated, but its converse is much neglected: To whom does the Constitution assign the power to declare peace? This Article comprehensively examines the Constitution’s various assignments of the power(s) to make peace—constitutional powers to end, as a practical matter and as a binding legal matter, a prior legal condition of war. Both the President and Congress possess several such powers. The President has the power, with the advice and consent of two-thirds of the Senate, to make treaties, including peace treaties that …
Reading Ourselves: Self-Documentation, Infamy, And Collective Health In Brazilian Peripheries, Asy Pepe Sanches Neto
Reading Ourselves: Self-Documentation, Infamy, And Collective Health In Brazilian Peripheries, Asy Pepe Sanches Neto
Proceedings from the Document Academy
This paper explores self-documentation as a social instrument for surviving misrecognition and constructing situated forms of care. Drawing from Foucault’s Lives of Infamous Men, it examines how lives become visible only when touched by power, through brief administrative inscriptions. Building on Documental Fixity (Sanches & Day, 2020), the argument shifts from the stabilizing power of documents to the anticipatory actions of those who know they are read. Rather than asking what a document is, I treat “document” as a modeling frame imposed upon things to manage indexicality. From passports to school uniforms, documentation organizes visibility and authority. In racialized and …
