Awakening to Languages (AtL) is a teaching approach that proposes multilingual activities and accompanies language teaching to foster the learners’ awareness of and openness to multilingualism, while increasing their reflexive metalinguistic abilities. In this article, we describe ATL as a component of Didactics of Plurilingualism (DP) and its main aims and characteristics which will be illustrated through multiple examples of activities and teaching materials. We further discuss the reported effects of AtL on learners, teachers, and parents, followed by current trends in integrating AtL in schools. Construction projects are often defined by their visible outcomes, structures completed on time, within budget, and built to the required standards. Yet beneath these outcomes lies a less visible force that quietly shapes whether success is achieved or compromised. Uncertainty is present in every phase of construction, influencing decisions, performance, and ultimately the trajectory of the project. The Romantic Era of art saw a shift from male to female dancers on stage. The female dancer became associated with mysticism and fantasy for the benefit of the male audience. With the onset of mysticism, came the idealization of death which was a common theme in many Romantic Ballets. The ballet, La Bayadère, is a Romantic Era ballet that has been adapted multiple times within the past half-century. During the early spring of my second graduate year, I was assigned to be costume designer for the upcoming production of Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice. Eurydice is a retelling of a narrative that had been mostly given spotlight to the male hero in past iterations. Now we as a design team were going to tell the story from Eurydice’s point of view. Antiseptics and disinfectants are among the most vital tools in infection prevention and control (IPC), especially in healthcare settings where the risk of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) remains a significant concern. This study aims to assess the awareness and knowledge of antiseptics and disinfectants among Allied Health Sciences (AHS) students and interns, identify knowledge gaps at different stages of training, and recommend educational interventions.

Methods:

The main objective of this article is to analyze how Le Sopha by Crébillon fils, through its complex narrative structure and mise en abyme, subverts the conventions of the 18th-century philosophical and libertine tale. By examining the role of the narrator, transformed into a sofa, and the use of the Oriental frame, this article seeks to understand how Crébillon fils invites the reader to critically reflect on morality, desire, and social conventions, while manipulating the audience’s expectations. Background: Tranexamic acid (TXA) is widely used to reduce perioperative bleeding in several surgical specialties; however, its role in vascular surgery remains uncertain. Concerns regarding arterial, venous and graft thrombosis, together with limited and low-certainty evidence of efficacy, have contributed to variation in practice across the UK. According to the 2025 National Vascular Registry there were nearly 20,000 major vascular operations carried out across the four nations. The 2023 NHS Blood and Transplant audit found TXA uptake in vascular surgery to be low (26.5%) when compared with other specialties such as cardiac, orthopaedic and trauma surgery, which each had TXA …

This project strengthens the Syracuse University Department of Drama’s ability to document its theatrical productions through high-quality digital photography. With support from the SOURCE grant, the department acquired updated photography equipment that enables students to capture clearer, more accurate images of performances. These photographs document acting, staging, costumes, sets, and lighting in a professional and archival manner.

In 2025, Utah State held an exhibition celebrating 50 years of Undergraduate Research (UR) . As a freshman art history major, I was the lead student curator in charge of the exhibition. The overall story I wanted to highlight was how research is much more than STEM projects, and students across majors can conduct research on subjects they are passionate about.

Recasting The Sacred: Gendered Embodiments In The Shadow Puppet Theatre Of Kerala, V. K. Karthika

Journal of International Women's Studies

Tholppavakkoothu, traditional leather shadow puppetry from Kerala, a southern state within India, has long been performed in temples as a sacred ritual. This ritual art form was a male-dominated performance in which ideas regarding physical purity (in connection with menstruating female bodies) excluded women from participating. Such patriarchal codifications were challenged when Pentholppavakkoothu, an all-women leather puppetry troupe, emerged in 2021, as it not only took the art outside temple premises but enabled the participation of women in the making and performance of the art.
