Water-Soluble Porphyrin Complexes For The Biological Inactivation Of Fentanyl, Anneli Nina

This work aimed to investigate the degradation of fentanyl in aqueous solutions using unsupported water-soluble cobalt(III) porphyrins (55 and 56), AuNP supported water-soluble cobalt(III) porphyrins (67 and 68), and liposome supported water-soluble cobalt(III) porphyrins (69 and 70). Complexes 55, 56, 68, and 69 have been shown to remove fentanyl from aqueous solutions at 37 ºC. The degradation of fentanyl, and the identification of breakdown products were analyzed with the use of time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS). Complex 55 has been shown to completely degrade fentanyl at 37 ºC in as little as two hours with a 400 mol% catalyst loading. Complex …

This study examined the effect of using visual arts to teach rhyming words and word family words. Two interventions were used, both utilizing the use of visual arts to learn both literacy skills. The interventions were then assessed with a pre- and post-test to see the if the interventions were successful. A student attitude survey was also given at the end of the study to see how the students felt about the interventions. This biographical study covers the early life and career of dancer, choreographer, and avant-garde theatre artist, Jean Erdman Campbell (1916-2020). Based on extensive research of historical literature and archival materials, the manuscript traces Erdman’s ancestry and follows the subject through age 32, when she became established as a star of modern dance and prepared for a world tour. The guiding question for this study was what influences shaped the life course, identity and artistry of Erdman, and how might the subject be presented as biography? The Watts Gang Treaty: Hidden History And The Power Of Social Movements, William J. Aceves

On the eve of the 1992 Los Angeles uprising, a small group of gang leaders and community activists drafted an agreement to curtail violence in south Los Angeles. Several gangs in Watts accepted the truce and established a cease-fire agreement. By most accounts, the 1992 Watts Gang Treaty succeeded in reducing gang violence in Los Angeles. Local activists attributed the reduction in shootings to the Treaty. Even law enforcement officials grudgingly recognized the Treaty’s contribution to reducing gang violence and a corresponding decrease in homicides.

Three recent plays—Anna Deavere Smith's Notes from the Field, James Ijames' Kill Move Paradise, and Antoinette Nwandu's Pass Over—represent a new subgenre in African American theater thatmight be termed BLM (Black Lives Matter) Drama. Located at a crossroads between the past (especially the legacies of artists like Black Arts playwright LeRoi Jones [Amiri Baraka] and innovator Suzan-Lori Parks) and the present (in the wake of Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and many others), these works exemplify urgent political and aesthetic choices that foster activism. In the field of modern architecture, a clear path indicates architecture’s historical development, from the very beginning of ancient Egypt to the emergence of modernism in the first half of the twentieth century, and finally to the dominant architectural style of today. Compared with the Western world, the Chinese developed their unique architectural style thousands of years ago. The style can be summed up as the difference between wood and stone, which deeply influenced surrounding countries. This study aims to measure the performance of tour guides serving visitors and identify the obstacles that exist in the implementation of tour guide activities at the TMII West Sumatra Pavilion. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by means of interviews. observation, and literature study. The results show that the performance of the tour guide in serving visitors is still lacking in terms of discipline, appearance and suitability of working hours, so it can be concluded that the performance of the tour guide does not meet the requirements in the context of excellent service. It’s been 70 years since the first women formally admitted to St. Norbert as co-eds stepped onto campus to claim their place as part of the brand-new Class of 1956. They formed a very considerable minority at a school that had been men-only since its founding in 1898. In the ensuing years, a great deal has changed for the college, for the campus community and for the experience of women who, here in 2022, form 59 percent of the student body. We celebrate those pioneers who began it all.

On New Year's Day, 1920, Florida was a sparsely populated, geographically isolated, and politically insignificant state. The state's population, the smallest in the South, had not yet reached the one million mark. Florida ranked thirty-second of forty-eight states, having just surpassed Colorado in population.1 In comparison, southern neighbors Alabama and Georgia recorded populations of 2.4 and 2.9 million inhabitants. The influence of North Florida and the Panhandle had crested by 1920. By 1930, new places and cities that had not even been born in 1910 signified the pulse beat and direction of Florida: Boca Raton, Coral Gables, and Miami Beach. …

TThis co-authored qualitative case study explores the challenge of teachers connecting with their students at the middle school level, especially when White teachers serve predominantly African-American students in large urban metropolitan areas like St. Louis, Missouri. While research has established the need for teachers to better understand the background experiences of their students, more research is needed to explore the value of place-based professional development in promoting more effective teacher-student relationships (TSRs). Abstract: The study aimed at identifying the methods of parenting upbringing styles and their relationship to vocational ambition. The study sample consisted of 383 male and female students from North Al Batinah Schools, selected by random cluster method, in a descriptive and correlational study, where the measures of parenting upbringing styles and vocational ambition were used. The results showed a high level of democratic upbringing in the sample followed by arbitrary and neglect, and the possession of the sample to the level of high vocational ambition. Ethics through Design (EtD) uses co-design methods to create, facilitate and nurture anticipatory capabilities for research and innovation, responsive to both society and environment. In practice, EtD problematizes both Ethics and Design. This paper draws upon ethics of technology, specifically the work of Gilbert Simondon, to formulate principles of co-design facilitation.
