Improving The Environmental And Design Performance Of Building Facades Using “Artificial Intelligence”, Nervana Osama Hanafy
Journal of Engineering Research
The construction sector has changed thanks to the use of artificial intelligence in architectural design. To investigate abstract conceptual concepts and produce an infinite number of design ideas based on mathematically determined criteria, AI offers a wide variety of computational methodologies. An exploratory examination of the development of AI in architectural design is presented in this paper. Since its inception as a tool for functional optimization, Artificial Intelligence has evolved into an unmatched source of design inspiration. The mechanism technology is needed to deliver the best lighting possible, depending on the design requirements. The following steps are taken during the …

Operationally Responsive Space: Past, Present And Future, Stuart Eves
Operationally Responsive Space: Past, Present And Future, Stuart Eves
Space and Defense
Where did the idea of Operationally Responsive Space originate? You might imagine that the idea was born during the First Gulf War, (sometimes called the First Space War), where use was made of strategic space systems to support operations. It was apparent, though, that strategic systems with very small fields of view and long revisit times were not well suited to operational reconnaissance. Other limitations of these strategic systems included a tasking system not suited for tactical timelines; significant data downlink requirements, making it difficult to deliver data into the theatre; a large in-theatre “footprint” for intelligence analysts; and lack …
European Approaches To Space And Security: Implications For Transatlantic Cooperation, Michael Searway
European Approaches To Space And Security: Implications For Transatlantic Cooperation, Michael Searway
Space and Defense
As complex security threats are increasing the need for international cooperation on Earth, the growing number of actors in space increasingly demands collaboration in space and security. This need is intensified by the unique environmental attributes of space. For example, debris from space assets can orbit the Earth for years, rendering large areas of orbital space unusable. Moreover, as space becomes more crowded, the lack of comprehensive international governance amplifies the chance of mishaps above Earth.

Beyond Disbandment Of Islamist Organization: Examining The Adaptive Resistance Of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (Hti), Ari Ganjar Herdiansah, Danis Wahidin, Anugrah Saputra
Jurnal Wacana Politik
The disbandment of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) in 2017 marked a significant shift in the dynamics of Islamist movements within Indonesia’s political landscape. Although officially banned, the HTI continued to operate in the shadows, employing various camouflage methods. This article analyzes how political dynamics led HTI to its outlawed status and how it adapted in pursuit of its goals amidst the challenges faced. By adopting a political opportunity structure and Islamist ideology as the theoretical framework with the case study as the method, this study scrutinizes HTI’s post-disbandment endeavors at the national level and delves deeper into cases in West …

Quad Bike Injuries In The United Arab Emirates: Evidence For Injury Prevention Strategies, Preetha Menon Karuveetil
Quad Bike Injuries In The United Arab Emirates: Evidence For Injury Prevention Strategies, Preetha Menon Karuveetil
Thesis/ Dissertation Defenses
Background: Quad bikes, also known as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), are versatile vehicles designed for navigating uneven terrain. Originally intended for agricultural purposes, they have gained popularity for recreational use, particularly in the Middle East, notably the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They are associated with substantial safety risks, resulting in injuries ranging from lacerations to severe traumatic injuries, imposing a significant economic burden on healthcare systems. Aims: This research addresses a critical gap in the existing literature by focusing on quad bike injuries in the unique context of the UAE, taking into account its desert environment, rider characteristics, and sociodemographic factors. …

A Grounded Theory Study Of The Styles, Strategies, And Perceptions Of Performing Arts Leaders, Liane Weintraub, Jessica Arriaza, Stephanie Viggiano
International Journal of Regional Issues in the Arts
The responsibility of leading an arts organization is distinct from other leadership roles due to the complexity and delicate nature of balancing tactical responsibilities while also nurturing an ecosystem that encourages artistic expression. Leaders’ duties are multifarious with often conflicting aims: managing complex organizations, navigating thorny governmental policies, and addressing critical social issues to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), all while cultivating a creative environment. This study aims to identify the specific traits, characteristics, and strategies demonstrated by current arts organization leaders who are navigating the shifting demands of arts leadership. In this grounded theory study, the research team …
