COVID-19 was diagnosed using deep learning models by a group of studies. Evaluating and benchmarking these models are essential to achieving the most suitable model for diagnosing coronavirus. Objective: In this investigation, we offer an inclusive valuation of several deep learning models to detect the maximum appropriate and active model which gratifies doctors' requirements and assessment criteria. Method: This study combines Fuzzy decision by the opinion score method (FDOSM) and Fuzzy-Weighted Zero-Inconsistency (FWZIC). According to the advantage of Trapezoidal Intuitionistic fuzzy, we developed FWZIC into Trapezoidal Intuitionistic fuzzy named (TrIF-FWZIC) for weighting criteria and FDOSM into Trapezoidal Intuitionistic fuzzy FDOSM …

A Lockean Theory Of Coastal Climate Adaptation, Lingxi Chenyang

Ocean and Coastal Law Journal

What rights do coastal residents have as the seas swallow their homes and livelihoods while the government fails to act? Many legal and policy reforms have been proposed to help people better respond to climate-induced coastal erosion. Little has been said about the underlying theories of climate governance. This Symposium Article identifies three theories of climate adaptation in the context of disappearing coastlines: scientific realism; economic realism; and liberal rights. According to scientific realism and economic realism, the key obstacle to effective climate adaptation is an uninformed government facing a scientifically and economically complex climate future. Remote Home Blood Pressure Monitoring For Management Of Hypertension, Kathleen M. Oliphant

Dissertations

Remote home blood pressure (BP) monitoring has the potential to improve patient engagement and adherence with the prescribed treatment plan for managing hypertension. This DNP project examined the effects of daily remote BP measurement using transmission of biometric data through a Bluetooth-equipped device paired to participants' smartphones. The clinical management of a chronic condition such as hypertension is a long-term process, but the findings of this DNP project supported the empirical evidence showing that remote BP monitoring improves patient outcomes.

It Starts At Home: An Exploration Of Family Ethnic-Racial Socialization And Depressive Symptoms Among Biracial Black-White Young People, Ashley M. Dominguez, Mckenzie N. Green

McNair Journal at VCU

Abstract

A growing body of literature has suggested that ethnic-racial socialization (ERS) is a protective factor for Biracial youth as it can provide youth with skills to face different adversities like racial discrimination, ultimately improving their psychological well-being. Various types of ERS exist (e.g., verbal, non-verbal, etc) across different levels (e.g., parent-child, household/family) but some have been overlooked and understudied in research. This study sought to bridge this gap by exploring ERS at the family/household level and determining whether it relates to depressive symptoms among Biracial Black-White adolescents and emerging adults (N = 723). Specifically, the study examined if (a) …

Attention Problems In Black Children Presenting To Pediatric Integrated Primary Care: Comorbidities And Gender Differences, Jaylynn A. Floyd, Heather A. Jones

McNair Journal at VCU

Introduction: Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity-disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with a lifetime prevalence rate of 8.7% (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2022). Numerous previous studies have exhibited how ADHD can be debilitating with both symptoms and impairments, but Black youth remain understudied (Green et al., 2024). To add, ADHD may present differently depending on one’s gender (Young et al. 2020), and bias has been shown to influence ratings of someone’s ADHD symptoms (Fairman et al., 2020). To combat these health disparities seen within the literature, this study aimed to describe attention problems in Black youth and to investigate whether attention …

This paper seeks to capture changing policies and approaches to hybrid and remote work in academic libraries following the COVID-19 pandemic. For this study, job advertisements were gathered and those hiring managers surveyed. Results show hybrid/remote positions have competitive salaries, many types of academic library positions have hybrid eligibility, and campus and library policies regarding hybrid/remote work and their inclusion in job postings continue to evolve. Despite the potential recruitment benefits of these flexible work arrangements, many who offer them are not including this information in their job advertisements; therefore, job candidates should ask or negotiate for this benefit.
