Development Of Urchin-Like Gold Nanoparticles For Drug Delivery Of The Glioblastoma And The Colorectal Cancer Cells, Joshua Ozougwu, Vinayak Shama, Bilal Javed Dr., Furong Tian Dr.

Journal of Academic Research and Innovation

Urchin-like gold nanoparticles have shown to enhance cytotoxicity against cancer cells compared to original gold nanoparticles making them a ‘promise’ for cancer treatment because of their specific size inducing more hot spots and produced surface/volume ratio. Different concentrations of urchin-like gold nanoparticles can be synthesised to observe the different effects the particles pose against the cancer cells. Urchin-like AuNPs were synthesised using the chemical reduction method to synthesise gold nano seeds. Hydroquinone was used to create the urchin shape of the gold nanoparticles. In vitro, cytotoxicity studies were performed to observe which concentration of urchin-like AuNPs had a stronger cytotoxicity …

Synthesis Of Nitrogen-Enriched 3d Graphene Foam For Electrochemical Sensing Of Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂), Bhargavi Dronavalli, Madhava Rao Vallabhaneni, Jatla Murali Prakash, Deepti Kolli, Dandamudi Srilaxmi

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

In this work, A simple hydrothermal process was utilized to create 3D-foam-type Nitrogen-doped graphene (NDG). The synthesized material was characterized using a range of physicochemical characterization techniques. These techniques confirm that nitrogen is successfully incorporated into the carbon network, resulting in NDG. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) investigation demonstrated that NDG-modified glassy carbon electrode (NDG/GCE) displayed finite charge transfer properties against typical redox systems. NDG/GCE is identified as a simple, facile, and efficient electrocatalyst material for the estimation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). From CV analysis, it is revealed that NDG/GCE can produce a signal for electrochemical quantification of …

Arabian Journal of Pediatric Dentistry

Background: severely damaged primary anterior teeth that require pulp therapy present a high-risk of failure due to the loss of tooth substance resulting from pre-existing decay and endodontic therapy itself. The ideal post material should have physical and mechanical properties that are similar to those of dentin . Another concern in restoring endodontically treated primary teeth is the need to find a material that can resorb in a similar way to natural tooth structure as a part of the exfoliation process allowing normal eruption of permanent successors . Accordingly there is no such material other than dentine itself. The introduction of …

Investigating The Market Dynamics Of Aeroponically Cultivated Products With Delay, Pulak Kundu, Uzzwal Kumar Mallick

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

Aeroponically grown potatoes offer higher yields and year-round production but often face delayed market entry due to high setup costs, technical barriers, and logistical challenges. A delay-based mathematical model has been newly proposed in this study to analyze the dynamics of demand, supply, and pricing for aeroponically grown products. The model’s existence, stability, and sensitivity have been investigated analytically, and numerical simulations have been carried out using the Runge-Kutta 4th order method with the dde23 solver. Findings reveal that market stability is maintained when delays are below seven years, but delays beyond this threshold lead to persistent fluctuations in price, …

The Saltpond Oilfield’S Second Life: Ghana’S Bioenergy With Carbon Capture And Storage (Beccs) Opportunity, Justice Appiah Nuamah

COP30

As the achievement of net-zero emissions requires the unavoidable deployment of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) technologies, this paper presents a technical and policy case for Ghana to implement Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) through the repurposing of the decommissioned Saltpond offshore oilfield for permanent CO2 sequestration. The proposal addresses two of Ghana’s developmental challenges in a single intervention: the conversion of millions of tonnes of agricultural and forestry residues into a sustainable feedstock solves a national waste management issue, while the resultant bioenergy generation supports rural electrification. This approach offers a more cost-effective CDR pathway than direct air …

Methodology Of Market Definition: Case Of Digital Multi-Sided Platforms, Anzhelika Gerasymenko, Vasyl Hanovskyi

Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies

The rapid expansion of the digital economy has significantly contributed to the increasing market power of digital multi-sided platforms, making its precise measurement increasingly challenging. The main reason is the lack of efficiency of SCP-tools in digital markets that push competition authorities to look for alternative ways of competition regulation in such markets (like the DMA approach), while its results are still poor. This paper provides the methodological grounding of a vertical breakdown of a complex product traded by digital multi-sided platforms to bring back the conventional tools of market definition and to adjust them to the specifics of digital …

Mcmc-Net: Accelerating Markov Chain Monte Carlo With Neural Networks For Inverse Problems, Anuj Abhishek

Faculty Scholarship

In many computational problems, using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) can be prohibitively time-consuming. We propose MCMC-Net, a simple yet efficient way to accelerate MCMC via neural networks. The key idea of our approach is to substitute the true likelihood function of the MCMC method with a neural operator based surrogate. We extensively evaluate the accuracy and speedup of our method on three different partial differential equation-based inverse problems where likelihood computations are computationally expensive, namely electrical impedance tomography, diffuse optical tomography, and quantitative photoacoustic tomography. MCMC-Net performs similar to the classical likelihood counterpart but with a significant speedup. …

From Black Umay To Albasti And From Yellow Girl To Martu: Reflection Of Evil Spirits In Uzbek Folklore, Dilbar Haydarova

Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences

Binary moral cosmologies—from Yin–Yang and Zoroastrian dualism to the God–Devil polarity—have long organized Eurasian thought. Uzbek oral literature participates in this horizon through persistent figures of benevolent and malevolent spirits that aid or obstruct heroic protagonists. To trace the historical development and literary functions of iyes (protective spirits) and yeys (harmful spirits) in Uzbek Turkic belief and narrative, and to identify their survivals in contemporary everyday practice. The study integrates close readings of canonical epics and folktales with comparative Central Asian and Islamicate folkloristics, supported by etymological analysis and targeted ethnographic notes. A diachronic typology is constructed to map motifs, …

Adultery And Infidelity: A Comparative Study Of Kate Chopin’S The Awakening And Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil' S AşK-I Memnû (Forbidden Love), Fikret Güven Sep 2025

Adultery And Infidelity: A Comparative Study Of Kate Chopin’S The Awakening And Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil' S AşK-I Memnû (Forbidden Love), Fikret Güven

Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences

Kate Chopin’s The Awakening (1899) and Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s Aşk-ıMemnû (Forbidden Love, 1900) explore the oppressive gender expectations placed upon women in their societies of late 19th-century Louisiana Creole and Ottoman Istanbul. Despite their cultural and geographical differences, both novels depict heroines who are seeking personal autonomy and emotional fulfillment. However, they ultimately succumb to the rigid constraints of patriarchy. Edna Pontellier and Bihter Ziyagül embark on transformative journeys that challenge prescribed gender roles through extramarital relationships, yet their desires for independence are met with societal condemnation. Edna’s rebellion stems from self-discovery and existential awakening, whereas a quest for passion …

Dark Laughter In Uniform: Humor And Militarism In Gregory Burke’S Black Watch, Pelin Gölcük Mirza Sep 2025

Dark Laughter In Uniform: Humor And Militarism In Gregory Burke’S Black Watch, Pelin Gölcük Mirza

Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences

Gregory Burke’s Black Watch, which premiered at the 2006 Edinburgh International Festival, focuses on the experiences of Scottish soldiers deployed to Iraq in 2003. The play makes extensive use of dark humor by juxtaposing laughter and pain, valor and absurdity, military and civilian life, in order to reveal the contradictions of contemporary militarism. Rather than celebrating patriotism or sacrifice, Burke undermines the romanticized narratives of heroism through profanity, abrupt shifts in tone, and mock-heroic scenes. Dark humor, thus, functions as both a coping strategy for soldiers’ trauma and a satirical device that subverts political rhetoric about the war. By …
