The Russian military invasion of Ukraine surprisingly impacted the world's geopolitical situation. The conflict that started at the end of February is ongoing and potentially disrupts economic and trade performance in the global sector, including Indonesia. The battle has the opportunity to increase some food commodity prices, thus hampering the total imports carried out. In addition, other leading commodities (non-oil and gas) such as gold, oil, and coal will also experience significant turmoil due to the conflict that has continued to heat up recently. The study provides an overview of the systemic impact on Indonesia's economic conditions by predicting the …

Combined Power, Temperature, And Humidity Cycle Testing For Battery Reliability Assessment, Sandhya Chandrashekhar
Defensive Publications Series
Some battery reliability assessments may utilize separate, isolated tests for thermal, electrical, and environmental stress. These approaches may not fully capture complex failure modes that can arise from combined effects in certain operating conditions. A methodology is described for power temperature humidity cycling (PTHC) testing. The method can involve simultaneously subjecting a battery (which may be part of a device such as a smartphone, smart watch, or other wearable) to continuous and potentially asynchronous cycles of power (e.g., charge/discharge), temperature (for example, from -20°C to 60°C), and relative humidity (for example, from 10% to 90%). By combining these stressors, which …

Situational Awareness In Virtual Reality By Providing A Wide Field Of View, Alexander Graehl Williams
Defensive Publications Series
Virtual reality (VR) headsets typically limit a user's field of view, restricting situational awareness to what is directly in front of them. This makes it difficult to monitor the surrounding environment for events or motion occurring outside the primary viewing area. This disclosure describes a method for conditionally displaying a panoramic, 360-degree view within a VR headset. The panoramic view can be triggered by events, such as the detection of motion in the user's periphery or rear. Upon detection, the standard forward-facing view is temporarily replaced or augmented with a compressed 360-degree visualization of the environment. This technique enhances the …

The Stony Island Arts Bank (SIAB) in Southside Chicago was designed and founded as a piece of art itself, with the organizational structure being a museum of Black cultural production. This article examines how the institution constructs an epistemology of Blackness through its archival practices, community programming, and spatial claims on the South Side. Founded by artist Theaster Gates through the Rebuild Foundation, the SIAB positions institutional design as an art medium, operating in productive tension with orthodox museum methods. The permanent collections—including the Johnson Publishing Company archives and Frankie Knuckles vinyl collection—function as epistemological records of Black self-documentation unmediated …

Between 2023-2024, staff of the University Archives at the University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center (Lexington, Kentucky, United States) reviewed the sustainability of our web archiving program. Preserving our institution’s vast web presence is technologically demanding, requires ongoing specialized expertise, and is underfunded. It is also absolutely necessary: If university archives do not determine how to sustainably acquire, preserve, and provide access to online documents, we will suffer (and already have experienced) significant gaps in our understanding of the university’s actions, events, and decisions. We used Kristin R. Eschenfelder, et al.’s “nine dimensional framework for digital cultural heritage …

Deep neural networks on cloud platforms face growing security threats, with AI services increasingly relying on heterogeneous models for the same task to meet diverse user needs. Existing methods fail to distinguish benign modifications from malicious attacks in cross-model scenarios. To address this challenge, we propose a non-intrusive cross-model watermarking method that generates discriminative samples as universal keys, enabling authentication without altering model parameters or architectures. Specifically, we introduce a margin enhancement loss to amplify confidence gaps between benign and malicious behaviors, ensuring high transferability across models. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate the high efficacy of our proposed …

Manuscripts, Articles, Book Chapters and Other Papers
Background/Objectives: Chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMSKP) affects up to 40% of adolescents and leads to substantial disability, reduced quality of life, and long-term health risks. Physical activity is central to treatment, but adherence to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) is inconsistent. We evaluated higher-resilience constructs-self-efficacy, pain acceptance, motivational stage, and affect-and hypothesized that higher resilience would be associated with greater objectively measured physical activity, better daily functioning, and higher quality of life in adolescents with CMSKP. Methods: Forty-three adolescents (13-18 years) with CMSKP completed measures of physical activity-specific self-efficacy, acceptance (AFQ-Y), motivational stage (PSOCQ-A), and affect (PANAS-C). Participants wore activPAL …

Journal of China & Foreign Highway
With the gradual shift of high-grade highways in China from construction to maintenance, higher performance requirements have been placed on asphalt binders. High-content SBS modified asphalt has become an inevitable choice for both new pavement construction and maintenance. However, conventional high-content SBS modified asphalt suffers from high energy consumption, excessive carbon emissions, and poor construction workability. In this study, a self-developed warm-mixed additive was introduced into high-content SBS modified asphalt, and the process was optimized to obtain warm-mixed SBS modified asphalt. The effects of the additive on the asphalt performance and the warm-mix efficiency were evaluated in terms of viscosity-temperature …

Research And Application Progress Of Rap Plant-Mixed Hot Recycling Based On Oil-Stone Separation, Yu Xin, Gao Yuchao, Zhou Jie
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
Driven by global sustainable development strategies, China, as a major infrastructure nation, faces multiple pressures from resource constraints, environmental challenges, and its dual carbon goals. The efficient recycling of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) has become a core issue for the green development of road engineering. Traditional recycling technologies struggle to overcome the 30% blending bottleneck due to issues such as high RAP agglomeration rates and significant gradation variability. The oil-rich RAP fine material has a high proportion and significant asphalt content, offering considerable utilization value. However, in conventional production processes, it faces challenges such as difficult heating and insufficient activation of aged asphalt. To achieve deep regeneration, this study adopted the method of preparing recycled asphalt mortar to regenerate asphalt mixtures. However, there is currently a lack of quantitative evaluation methods for the activation degree of aged asphalt in this mortar regeneration process. Therefore, it is essential to establish an activation degree evaluation index to optimize the mortar preparation process parameters. The paper calibrated recycled asphalt mortar samples …
